I've been searching around the forum but can't seem to find someone who had success with using a basic relay to bypass the parking brake wire on the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH

Seems like everybody bought a bypass on eBay,did Pioneer change this up again so the relay trick won't work on the newer radios?

Thanks for any help if you have the 4400

Your best bet is to search or start a thread in AVIC411.com.

It's a forum for Pionner head units, very informative crowd there. Always helped me with my AVIC F700BT.

Most NAV units, you can just ground the parking brake wire and it'll work. I know it works perfectly on my setup, although it's not a Pioneer.

I have it working on my Pioneer 3200BT - not sure how similar/close that is. Let me know if you don't find one specific to your unit.

I just Read a bunch of post on a Subaru forum. Everyone is saying to use a Solid State type of bypass sold on eBay for the avh-p4400bh. They also said that if you don't use a bypass that you loose some functions of the Bluetooth phone options. I'm just gonna order one. I can't install the radio this week end anyway cause it my 20th wedding aniversary:D

I have the same radio and I have a basic relay. It seems to work without a problem I just don't have the right iPod cable to watch youtube to test it out.

i just grounded the parking brake wire in the cab instead of splicing to the parking brake and everything works fine.

kw-nt3hdt in dash navigation unit/dvd player. it is a jvc and I was told as well that I would need to purchase a bypass relay for the unit to work while moving. I just grounded the p brake wire and it works just fine.
