Couple of questions. Got a cheap cam of ebay for 11 bucks and I am installing it to my pioneer unit. I want to run a constant power so I can turn the camera on anytime. Ive read there is a reverse wire on the head unit I need to run to my reverse wire? Or is it as simple as running the red wire from the camera to a constant power source, the black to my ground, then yellow video wire to the unit? Thanks for the help!

Good question. This is exactly what I'm doing too & not sure how to wire up for that. Just ordered the Pioneer avh-x2600bt.
    Anyone?
    Thank you! :)

simple answer is YES you can.

I'm doing this right now to my 2006 DC, with a Pioneer AVH3600. In my case I soldered a cigerette lighter plug to the cab end so I can power it that way as needed. You can even buy some of these cigerette lighter plugs with fuses already in line (philmore is the brand)

Instead of actually using the rear camera "app" on the screen mines considered AV and that's the "app" you use to see what the camera sees.

The camera i'm using is the taotronics license plate frame system from Amazon.

    hope this helps.
