    Too much.
Excellent. After having wireless AA for a while, I've found I can live without it.

apparently they're a pretty hot commodity and the higher-ups aren't letting me get one until the demo units ship out (no clue when that will be) so I have no news for now :annoyed:

In a major plot twist, I actually made a career change back and changed companies at the end of March so it’s much less likely that I’ll get my hands on one now lol

Oh wow, well congrats on the new gig! Just out of curiosity what line of work did you land in? I know many will be disappointed as you’ve been a leading voice with all things car stereo!

I am the HR Director at our local Chick-fil-A. A pretty drastic change, I know! My wife is actually the GM there, and we are great friends with the Owner/Operator. My wife is trying to decide if she wants to aim to have her own location one day. There is typically lots of spousal involvement when you own a restaurant, so I’m doing this new job half for a change of pace, and half for her to try out working with me to see if its something we want to do long-term.

Car stereo was never my long-term goal (heck, it wasn’t a short term goal)
I started working at Best Buy when I was 19, and worked every sales position in the store (Computers, TVs, cameras, phones, etc,) 2 of the 3 field service positions (appliance install and home-theater install) and then lastly, the AutoTech position.
I loved working there, and certainly wont rule out going back at some point. But I needed something to expand my work experience, and to assist in personal and professional growth. Only so much you can get from hourly retail jobs, but it was fun while it lasted!

So the 6600 is delayed indefinitely because the warehouse is closed for covid. They expect more significant delay once they reopen due to the mass backup or orders once they open. So I caved and got the 5500 nex for $250 less. Based on the international kit for the corolla it looks like its a smidge smaller than the bigger JBL opening. I bought a used smaller opening bezel with the hopes of milling out the opening to the exact right size for a factory look.

Well it fits. Some minor mods to the factory mounts and its sitting flush. The opening in my JBL bezel is a little too big. I have a double din bezel coming that I will mill out to fit just right.

They looks great! Did the plastic seem to mill out pretty well or was it brittle?

Milled beautifully. I just used a router table with a 3/16 flush trim bit. The bearing slipped off my guide twice so it's not perfect. I designed a 3D printed milling guide that will fix this issue and should make for a perfect opening. I bought a bigger printer because it's too big for my current one. Will be a couple weeks before that arrives.
