That’s what I did, just make sure to double check you connected to the SAT antenna and not GPS, don’t remember which color is which, but they are the same style, at least they were on my 2021

Are there any aftermarket options that support the 360 degree camera? I'd love to upgrade my 2020 but I'm not looking to lose that feature.

I just ordered this unit. What do I need for an anytime front camera, that is switched? Planned on using the QI switch to bring up the front camera feed as thats getting swapped too.

I just bought this (and the full kit) from Crutchfield. After hooking it all up, everything works but the audio.

My truck has the JBL audio. The deck has a stack of RCA outputs (as well as unused output wires on the main harness), but there are no RCA plugs on the truck side to connect them to. What gives?

The OP mentions this: "1. you will cut the RCA connectors and connect the wires to the pioneer harness." but I can't find more detail on what this is referring to. Is this the piece I'm missing, or is there another harness I didn't get?

EDIT: To clarify, I DID tell Crutchfield I had the JBL Audio, so presumably they would've included any harnesses or instructions I'd need to work with that.

Do you have the wiring diagram from the maestro software? You do need to cut the gray wires for the subwoofer. Although the regular speakers are color-coordinated.

Yes, I have the wiring guide. The Crutchfield instructions also say the speaker wires (purple, green, white, and gray) are unused, presumably because they use some pre-amped RCA connector instead. However, I connected all the correct harnesses to the truck, and there's nothing for the deck's RCA wires to plug in to.

EDIT: Here is the document I'm referring to https://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20220127123000/Manuals/794/794HRRTO2.PDF

You can see how the speaker wires are not needed. Instead - presumably - it uses the preamp RCA output. It looks like it only has the front channels (no rear or sub?) over RCA, but even with those connected to the front output on the deck, I hear nothing.

You need to cut the white and gray RCA’s from the harness and splice them to the white and gray speaker wires as shown:
The instructions 'do not' say that the white and gray are unused.... just the purple and green pairs...

If you look under 16-19 Tacoma with JBL under Step 1, it shows that you need to cut the white and gray RCA's from the harness and splice them to the white and gray speaker wires. You should see a white and gray RCA on one of the harnesses, it needs to be cut. These will plug into the Front Input RCA's if I recall correctly.

That helps a bunch! I think that may be my issue!

Can you link me to the instructions you're referencing? The ones Crutchfield sent me don't say anything about cutting the RCAs.

EDIT: I'm stupid, I found it. I just didn't scroll far enough! I didn't realize they had the same instructions for multiple vehicles, so I was just looking at the first.
EDIT2: Wait, are we looking at the same doc? The 16-19 Tacoma with JBL doesn't say to cut the RCAs, only the "without" JBL does.

Those are the correct instructions, it doesn't specifically state that you have to cut them but it shows the white/grays spliced to the white/gray RCA's and as you've said, others on here have said that you have to cut them. I just did this a few weeks ago so its fresh in my head.

To be clear, after I cut the white and gray RCA wires, do I connect them to the Pioneer's main harness (with the speaker-level output), or do I also cut the corresponding RCAs off the second harness and connect them there?

Looking at the wiring diagram I don’t think you cut off the RCA’s, you would plug the white and gray to the LF and RF rca outputs from the Pioneer harness. You only cut the RCA’s on non JBL, if you have a 3rd gen Tacoma

That was my very first thought, but I get no audio when I go that route (and all these comments I see about cutting RCA wires led me to believe that may have been wrong)

I would give idata or Crutchfield a call to see if they can help.

I don't believe he would be able to plug the white/gray in to anything because they are just wires and do not have an RCA attached. But I agree with you, I'd call Crutchfield, they are super helpful. I actually called them and Maestro and they both knew their stuff.

Thanks a bunch for your help guys, I got it working. My remote-turn-on wire (which has both the antenna and the amp on it) had a shoddy connection, so the amp wasn't powering on. The complex wiring situation was just a red herring.

For the sake of those reading later, installations with JBL audio should NOT cut any wires. The white and gray RCAs from the harness just connect to the front RCA output wires of the stereo. I guess all the signals go through those channels, I definitely hear my sub too. Maybe I no longer have the ability to fade front/rear, but I haven't tinkered much.

Thanks for the update. I definitely had to cut the RCA's but I should have clarified I have a 2nd Gen. My apologies.

This may seem like a weird question, but do you need to hook up the OBD2 connector from the Maestro RR at install with the 6600nex? What functions would I lose?

I ask because I have to repair a few pins on the OBD2 plug in my truck but would like to get the new HU installed in the meantime.

I was about to post the exact same question. I just installed mine yesterday and didn't hook up the OBD2 connector. The deck has some gages that all seem to work fine. I'm not clear what functionality I'm missing by not connecting this plug.

Interesting. Can you share which gauges are working on the deck? Is it things like tire pressure, etc?
