    Question for you gentlemen.

Is the 6600 the only out of the pioneer family that will flush fit with the modification?

    Can the 7600 &/or 8600 fit similarly?

So if install the 6600 or 7600, do I have to give up the digital speedometer that’s in the center of the gauges above the steering wheel?

The only thing you will lose in the display is the digital compass display. The speedo remains.

No, your bezel will work without modification.

Want to thank everyone that has taken time to help myself and numerous others with HeadUnit replacement! With everything going on in this world it’s nice to see everyone come together without regard.
    Thanks

How's this headunit been working out with everyone? I have the DMH-W4660NEX and its been glitchy from the day it was installed by best buy. The firmware update did help a bit but music would randomly cut out or the mic cuts out when talking hands free. Would love to get a bigger screen if no one has reported any issues with it.

I have both 6600 (‘16 Taco) and 4660 (‘02 Tundra) The 6600 is way better screen wise and lag-wise. I don’t experience connectivity trouble with either outside of if I take the phone out while running then it has to be stopped to reconnect.

price wise the 6600 is just the right amount more expensive that it’s not a no brainer. I can’t decide which (if either) to get for my 2nd Gen.

TLDR, not sure a 6600 solves for your reported trouble.

I have ran the 6600 since June of 2020. The unit has been rock stable, however iOS upgrades have caused several instability issues, primarily in the Bluetooth stack. Inevitably, they are fixed via iOS patching or 6600 firmware upgrade, but on a few occasions, I have reverted to using a wired CARPLAY option. The typical fix is to delete the Bluetooth connection on both the 6600 and iphone, then rebuild the connection and everything works fine. Screen lag described in this thread has never been an issue for me, it just works. Call quality with my aftermarket mic has been fine (placed in the factory position). Overall, well worth the investment.

Screen lag is more noticeable when you're used to the 6600 and you swap over to the 4660. I wouldn't say the 6600 is as fast as a brand new phone/tablet but it's highly reasonable. The 4660 can, at times, take a while to respond to a touch. That and the larger screen size make it worthwhile to consider the 6600 if it fits (my '02 Tundra _might_ be able to float it, my '05 Tacoma _should_ fit flush, but both are stock double din setups so I'm not sure how much time I want to spend futzing with fitment before getting amps wired up.

Question on the iDatalink. I have the JBL and am using a seperate amp for my speakers but we still need to keep the factory one inline, correct? And if so do you set up the iData with factory amp switched to yes mode ?
Any page with recommended set up for the iDatalink switches? I could not find one.
    Thanks in advance.

Question regarding microphone placement, I purchased the enfig microphone for my 2021. My question which of the locations did you use to place it? There's a small 1" spot with a plastic mini grill above driver seat and a spot in between the console lights. I don't recall my 2016 having the spot above the driver...So let me know, I'm ready to get rid of the factory garbage head unit - total crap!

Second pic. There is a piece of foam laying in there, pull it out and drop in the mic. Clips into the spot.

The Enfig works great and has for over a year for me now, it was the final perfect ending to my head unit swap after multiple tries with the supplied Kenwood mic.

A 6600 will be my next purchase. I added an Alpine PowerPack amp to the stock head unit but it didn't do much at all to push the Kicker door speakers.

Wondering if anyone has Entune 3.0 non-JBL tech specs handy? Can't find them anywhere. Just want to compare.

I had this same problem with the 3800NEX, I found that if I removed the WIFI connection from my phone to radio it works every time now. You just wont get any of the features from the Pioneer OS that require WIFI to work, I stay in carplay 99% of the time so this does not bother me.

Did you by chance get the TPMS screen working on your 2nd gen? I can't get it to work on my 2015 with the 3800NEX radio. Thanks!
