Thanks, I will try this. Since their recent fw update, connectivity has improved a lot.

Thanks to this thread, I am 90% ready for installation. Just waiting on a few things for the amplifier and speakers installation.

Pulling the trigger on this HU. Sorry if I missed it, but why the GPS adapter when the HU comes with its own unit? I don't have a need for satellite radio

This way you can use the factory GPS the truck already has verses adding an aftermarket one (that you don’t need.)

Replaced my AVH-W4500NEX with the DMH-WC6600NEX. Wiring was identical on the speaker and power harness, only had to swap the RCA/camera harness (rarely the case, please make sure you know what you are doing before re-using a harness from another radio).

I re-used the metra kit I installed on the previous radio, removed the faceplate and cut the faceplate tabs off, only leaving the side mounts. Came out almost flush, very easy to adjust. Waiting on my OEM brackets to come in to see if those line up any better.

Wow, what a difference this larger screen is! $900 refurbished, worth every penny!

Looks great! This thread should have locations of where to punch holes in the factory bracket to line it up flush. Yours looks good.

I did that same swap a few years back. My 4500 rattled like crazy. Once you get the Maestro software working properly you should be good to go for years.

$900!! I think I paid $500 for refurbished back in 2020. Inflation and product scarcity perhaps.

I picked this up + maestro + wiring adaptors for 500$ used :)

Absolutely massive upgrade, my sub actually works properly now, and I have Android Auto!

One thing I'm still working on, is that I can't seem to get my front camera working. I have it grounded, connected to "second camera" plug on harness, and tapped to red wire on main harness of radio.

I then went into AV settings and activated second camera, and it's just greyed out.

It was working before just fine so, thinking it's either which plug it's hooked up to, or it's a power issue.

I’m having the same problem. I’m adding a Nakita camera for the front, and can’t seem to access it from the head unit. I know it’s working, if I swap it to the rear camera input, I get image.
Is there some setting I’m missing? I’ve been through the menus, and can’t find anything.

I found the answer for my problem. If you read the fine manual, deep in at page 95, you find these instructions. The key is changing the AV input. Mine was set to the Maestro. Once I did that, the 2nd camera option was available.

How’s the quality of your Nakita? I have a front Nakita and the quality is awful and very laggy.

Morning everyone. I am considering this upgrade but I was curious if anyone wheels with this setup? Is there a lot of movement or rattling?

I do some light off-roading (not rock crawling). The install is rock solid, no rattling whatsoever. I experienced rattling with a different pioneer HU, but as long as you modify the installation bracket for the install, you should be good!

Has anyone had any luck getting the gauge display functionality on the Pioneer to display transmission temperature? I know how to do this with e.g., ODB Fusion via an ODB2 adapter but I'd love if I could find a way to work this work entirely in the head unit display.

(album) This was my last trip out before winter and I don't have any concerns whatsoever :)

I bought this head unit from Crutchfield with the recommended install kit (maestro etc) for my 2018 Pro. I had also picked up the Anytime Backup Camera mod last year and never got around to installing it. Would this setup support that mod? I couldn't tell from the previous posts if I even needed it anymore or not, but I just need it for the factory backup camera. Thanks for the help

I did this, however when I switch to the second camera view it's just black.

It was working fine before with stock HU.

Do you have the ABC kit? Needs to be rewired to work with the Pioneer. I completely removed the ABC kit and wired the front camera to a new power source. I couldn't make it come on with a single physical button anymore (so I removed the ABC switch also) but if I toggle camera view, I can switch between front and rear this way on the headunit. Wish the Maestro had an option to allow for aux cam as a shortcut from a button.

No, I was using the germes lab switch.

It is completely removed, so I just have the camera and head unit.

It's probably the power source. I tapped into the head unit power, but it may not have taken. I'll check it out after I finish replacing my fuel tank.
