yes they are. If I recall correctly you need an RCA to 3.5mm for the aux and Maestro makes a cable to adapt to the back of the USB.

You can still use the Germes Lab if you like. I really liked the simplicity of it but didn't know how to make it work with the 6600NEX at first. @svermilyea helped me figure it out and it's been working perfectly just like it did with the OEM HU.

I had to remove my germes all together to get the headunit/maestro to work. It seemed to have been interrupting the signals from the germes unit.

Is the power supply from the headunit not sufficient to power the front camera? I can't seem to get it to work.

Germes works fine just needs power. Germes plug and play harness gets power from a T to the stock NAV unit, no idea why since power is readily available elsewhere. Re-routing power to the Germes off remote out from the pioneer is one option or any ignition switched source is good. On my ‘16 ignition is in the 10 position connector but 2020+ is a new set of connectors for etune 3

Im sure it does, however no need to have it really when the head unit has ability to display two cameras views.

Just need to get it to detect the second signal :l

The benefits of mode double click, auto front camera when shifting out of reverse, and hold in either front or rear are super worth it to me. It may not be a need but it’s for sure a very nice thing to have. I wish I had one in my other trucks.

Nope. I just activated second cam in HU, then plugged it into the aux cam or second cam plug on the harness.

You can have any camera on with this head unit all the time. I had the rear on while my bed was full, just to see the tailgater behind me lol.

I haven't figured it out yet. It's possible I tapped the wrong line, or that it didn't tap properly. I haven't had a chance to look into it yet. However.... It was working before just fine, so I know the camera is good. The HU either isn't picking it up, or there isn't power to it.

Ahhh interesting. I am getting the little icon to switch to second camera but the screen is still black. My camera was working prior to the swap as well.

This is exactly the same thing I have. Button is there, but it's just a black screen.

Edit: It's working. Checked all my connections and I'm working now.

Alright... I this head unit just doesn't like aftermarket cameras.

I swapped the rear view camera output to the second camera input, and it works just fine.

I verified the camera is working via TV.

The head unit just doesn't recognize the signal, is my only guess. I also tried to force each signal type in settings, but nothing came through.

I'm guessing a camera with the right signal type is needed.

Has anyone gotten the front camera to work with this head unit, w.o ATB or Germes?

The Natkia one that was always recommended by everyone.

Ensure your positive/negative off the camera are hooked up properly.

I jumped the activator wire to a hot wire so it would activate.

Camera yellow connector is hooked up to second camera on back of HU.

What are you guys using for mapping when you're out of cell service? That was one thing that was good with the old HU, the map was SD card based, and it showed most forest service roads in my area, almost all of which are out of cell range.
Can Google maps still do that if I download the map for the area?

I’m a heavy user of Gaia GPS, because I also hike/backpack and it’s very useful for creating routes. Lots of premium layers including USFS and MVUM etc. there’s a CarPlay app for it. The caveat being that their file organization system is cumbersome and doesn’t work well when you have >1000 waypoints saved. I’ve heard good things about OnX Off-road, but haven’t used it.

Google should be able to if you download offline.

Yes, google will allow you to download maps of the area and continue even when you lose service.

Thanks. I thought that would be the case, but life hasn’t let me get to the hills to test it yet.
