I just installed a Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX and Maestro RR in my 2018 Tacoma Sport w/o JBL. The only issue I have is that every time the vehicle is started, the center information display in the dash will not display what is playing on wireless Android Auto/Spotify. I have to change sources to get this information to display. It is fine for the rest of the trip, but next time, I need to toggle the source again.

Has anyone encountered this and found a solution?

Pictures attached for the initial condition.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Haven't found the solution to this yet. Crutchfield and Maestro have been looking into it. Easier now than changing the source, I can just press the microphone button and when Google asks what you need, the info panel starts displaying properly. A nuisance, but not a big deal. With the previous HU, I would have had the compass always displayed there. Now just looking for something useful to fill that space 90% of the time.

I purchased everything from Crutchfield and had setup the email notice for when this came in stock. I received an email that the 5700 was expected in a few days and I could place a pre-order. I did and within a week everything was delivered.

I haven't done any additional upgrades and the 5700 sounds much better than stock, so no complaints.

In case anyone stumbles upon this thread in the future, Pioneer recently released the 2.0 firmware for the head unit and my problems with the Tacoma display have been solved. My head unit was on version 1.31 prior to the 2.0 update.

Which kit did you use for your install? Did you have to modify it to get a flush install?

Crutchfield had the American International TOYK9714 Dash Kit as part of the recommended install items. No modifications were needed to have this fit the existing dash bezel in the truck.

There is a small lip where the dash kit meets the existing dash bezel. Works fine for me, but I could have added a washer or two at the four mounting bolts if I wanted to make it truly flush.

Thank you for the response. I have the Scosche kit, and the brackets are metal (which is nice) but the head unit sticks out about 1/2 an inch so either it will be modified or will use the one you mentioned.
