There is no room to play around with the Tacoma and aftermarket radios...

Installing a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX with the Maestro RR from Crutchfield.

Still waiting on a replacement mount since the Metra was a quality as a pile of... (Went with Scosche).

How did any of you tuck all the wires, and the maestro unit, in what little space was available with room to slide the radio in?

I'm running into the unit hitting cables and not seating right.

I don't have the Maestro, but do have the steering wheel control box tucked away. The box is off to the right, as you're looking at the space, over the metal piece on that right side. There is room for that box to fit over and past that metal piece. For the wires, I've had the same problem as you with a couple Pioneer HUs. What I do now is bundle up the wiring as much as I can and still keep a bit of slack, then I tie a piece of string to the bundle, and, as I push the HU in, I pull the string/wires up, then push the HU all the way in. I then just tuck the string on the inside of the dash kit and done.

I thought about this. But I'd pull it to the left. There seems to be some room there. Once my new housing arrives I'll try that.

Definitely whatever works, I just see a "ton" of space above the HU and under the dash plate.

I feel your pain..ill post a link to what i did..had i not then i couldnt have fit the wires. I just used the section of this video where he rebuilds and secures the harness wires. as a reference as to which wires go which direction when rebuilding the harness...also Tesa Tape is a must.

Tesa tape helped a lot. I managed to find some space on the top so it helped.
