Hi there, looking for some advice from anyone willing to chime in. Just installed a pioneer deck to my 2nd gen...this one...

    http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P3200BT-Dash-Multimedia-Receiver/dp/B00385I7TU

and i added this bypass that i got on ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-VIDEO-B...ultDomain_0&hash=item255e412029#ht_617wt_1139

My problem is that while i get the dvd player to work with the car in drive i cannot get the menu screen to work. Holding down the menu button is supposed to give me access to other options but whenever i do that the screen reads "option not available while driving." This is in park.

Just for some info, the bypass has 3 wires. 1 goes to the chassis ground.
2 goes to the parking break and 3 goes to the power antenna...which is n/a

    Thanks for your help.

Not too sure about this but if you cant figure it out, try grounding the parking brake wire coming from the deck. This will bypass the parking brake deal as well, and will tell you if your problem is in the bypass thing that you bought. and no, you actually didn't need to buy that bypass thing.

yep, let me know how it goes. if it still doesn't work with the parking brake wire grounded, maybe the deck is defected? and from my understanding, you couldn't get to the other menus even when the truck is in park? either way, double check all your connections.

Hi justin, thanks for your help. Got it working. Originally had it connected to the ebay bypass and the ground...so had all three crimped together. tried just the ground and it still wouldn't work and then tried connecting it to just the bypass and it worked....go figure. not sure why though. What is in the ebay bypass anyways? is it bad that the stereo is not connected to the factory "ground" (black wire) and just connected to the bypass thing? so now i have the cable that is going to the chassis ground just going into the bypass and the ground cable from the factory harness has been crimped...is this ok?
sorry for all the questions...newbie here...as if you couldn't tell. lol
    thanks!!
