What's the mileage and approximate time on the trail?
    Did you round-trip it?

We did it in 1:51 last time, but went slow in some spots to poke around. That was “moving time”

Edit: This was one way from Pioneer town > Baldwin Lake

There is so much more to do after we get to Baldwin Lake/Big Bear: More trails, lunch, then could do Coxey rd back down to Lucerne, then home for everyone. make it a full day trip

I think a bit under 20 miles for the main road and about an hour and a half straight through..but i recommend going up to Tip top mountain i think its called the road is 2N90 which is an offshoot of the 2N02 trail. I spent the night in BB so no round trip for me

Ran this a couple of times, there's several side trails I haven't explored that I'd like to. 2WD should be good but also make sure you have the GPX mapped out so you don't get lost or take a wrong turn. My buddy with a lifted subi ran this with no issues. Might be interested and bring a few friends along.

Is this trail suitable for a DCLB, Offroad 4x4 STOCK? Or would larger tires or lift of some sort be required?

Thanks I have been worried about the longer wheel base on the DCLB. Been eyeing a camping trip, 1-2 nights in Johua Tree, up to BB from Pioneertown and then 1 night in Big Bear.

    Sounds like a good trip.

there’s nothing on the main road up that you’ll have trouble with. Couple of steep spots, just go slow, enjoy the Joshua tree forest on the way up, and watch for traffic.

Just saw this thread. I just posted another thread about this trail https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/great-sunday-outing-on-burns-canyon-trail.721689/

Really easy trail. Never took it out of 2wd.

We actually saw a stock minivan out there, so any flavor of Tacoma will definitely work. It was a couple and for sure either meth or heroin folks. They were stopped in the middle of the trail and I circled around to ask them if they needed any help.

One of the girls in our group cracked us up with "They're good, just methin' around in the desert"
