Have to buy a new set of tires this coming fall/winter. I’ve ran KO2’s before, found them excellent. Currently have Roadcruza RA1100, almost a KO2 knock off.

I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus? How are they in snow?

I live in Canada and get a lot of snow, and freezing rain, all of that good stuff.

I looked at them. I just couldn’t find in my rim size/dimensions. I deal with a lot of rain/mud/dirt. About to try Kumho Road Venture AT52 once they get #4 (they only had 3 on hand). Had Nitto Terra Grappler G2, but they lose traction at about 60-70% life.

I don't think I've heard anybody that actually likes pirelli tires. Not even the F1 drivers like them

I used to like them… but then Sam’s Club made some arrangement with them that had them being produced in Brazil and Quality/Rubber went to shit. That was the 90s, so I don’t judge them on that anymore. But the Scorpions I looked at had a well designed pattern and the ratings were respectable.

Pirelli emphasizes handling and every car I’ve had them on the rubber lasts 15,000 miles or less, With the exception of the scorpions but I was sure to only use them when they were below 50°

I had them and they didn't even last 15k miles. I do not recommend these tires.

It’s been years, I like to think they have since been redesigned many times, but the ones I had on a Yukon were garbage. And yes, it was properly aligned with good suspension, my buddy is a tech and did the work personally, he said they were garbage too.

I have them on my 2018 TRD OR. I've had them on for nearly 40k miles but I'm about to have to replace them. Unfortunately, I don't know how they are in snow because I live in Florida, but I've not had any issues with them. I'm actually looking at Goodyear Duratech A/T's for the next set only because they are guaranteed for 50k miles.

Very common on F150s, not sure if they were an oem tire.

Not a good choice at all.

    Stick to Toyo/Michelin/Falken/Nitto/Yokohama

The Scorpions that were on my Rivian handled well on and off road in the wet, dry, snow and ice. In thick mud they didn’t clean out very well and tended to slick up faster than other AT tires.

Sounds like negative reviews all round. Thanks for the input

Here's a whole lot of crowd-sourced info on that and other 3PMSF rated tires. Somehow it does not have the BFG Trail-Terrain T/A that is a highly rated 3PMSF. The not 3PMSF rated OEM version my '24 Tacoma has are really good so I'll consider that with 3PMSF rating if my winter use needs it before the OEM tires are worn. I'm not an off road driver as hobbyist but am off road a lot as MTB trail builder and ski area crew so will point out those work well.

I have a set. I’ve had them for about 50k miles. I’m down in Florida and they handle well for the conditions we have here. I’ve been very pleased with them. I can hit a deep puddle going 50 mph and the truck won’t even flinch. No hydroplaning which is great for me.

I’m not sure how well they’d do in snow but the Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s were rated the highest on nearly all the tire review sites I’ve been to, regarding snow and ice.

The scorpions tested pretty good for snow, but their grip and stopping distance on ice wasn’t as good.
    Hope this helps.

Loved, loved, loved my Duratracs with the 3 peak snow designation. So far, I really like my Wildpeaks in the snow too.
