So Nick. You see the correlation here? When camping it's important to have copious amounts of meat sweats. Having a strong camp game is as important as having big flag game. No, it's more important than flag game. Big flags and no camping game screams docile non-woman protector. The camp chef is king. Brownies brought from home is just meh. Brownies cooked in a Dutch oven over coals? Respek. But save that for your dates. Bring meat sweats to this dance. Not your milkshake. And damn right mine's bettah than yours. Hahaha!

    I'm more than likely out.
Called and talked to a Ranger.
Although day use may not sell out it is a holiday weekend for something and that's why it's sold out everywhere. Yes reservations are needed to camp on the sand. I'm not willing to drive all the way out there and not being able to camp.
She said there could be a small chance of some opening Friday morning early but it's 50/50

Yeah I think that's what Ron is thinking of doing, wheeling during the day and then parking his truck at an overnight lot nearby and getting a ride into camp with someone else

What about asking if we're allowed to have more than one vehicle per paid camping pass?

I think there are a lot of us only bringing one vehicle and if it's just an additional charge at the gate, then that could be an option for everyone who didn't get a reservation.:notsure:

The rules are only 1 vehicle per overnight pass with 1 legally towed vehicle. So you can have 2, but the 2nd one has to be towed in

    My email confirmation says:

    • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
    • A maximum of 2 licensed vehicles autos, travel, boat, and utility trailers may be parked at most campsites
So was thinking that maybe if per say.. I showed up with two vehicles(not on a trailer), then maybe they'd just charge an additional fee and viola!

unfortunately not. the second vehicle needs to be towed. You can get ghetto and tie a tow strap between two rigs. That may work? blahahah!

Yeah I read more and I'm still getting mixed signals. Seems like it says no, but then still falls back on saying that there would be an additional charge and that most sites accommodate two rigs.:notsure:

    • Due to the popularity and nature of this park, there is no space available for parking additional cars. Each reservation is limited to one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle.
    • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites).Four wheel drive vehicles are recommended.

"your site may hold two or more vehicles"
I believe it may be referring to whereever we decided to setup camp. That it allows us to setup camp in a group, "two or more". Sounds sensible since you need a reservation for your vehicle

your entry fee is for one vehicle. Only. If you tow anything thats included in your one vehicle.

People make huge camps with 10-20 trucks at the camp site. You wont get in two vehicles with one pass.

It sold out like i mentioned it would. Whoever doesnt have a pass has to do a day pass then park off beach and ride back in with someone. Unless you want to pay a hefty fine.

There are no "sites". You'll see when we get there that it's a free for all mad house. National forests (ie Serrano campground in big bear) pull the same shit. Max 2 vehicles but a 3rd can be towed. Real lame.

Guys just keep in mind that they withhold passes from online reservations to allow for walk on camping. Only 100 or so and its first come first serve. Would place money on it but you might be able to get there first thing Saturday morning at 8 am when the Rangers get there and snag one
