I have a truck because I need one not for the mileage when I go any distance I take the TDI, TDI 50 MPG truck 20 MPG on a good summer day it's a no brainer but I can't fill the TDI with enough fire wood to make it worth while or carry 4X8 plywood oh yeah my camper is longer then the VW that would look a little silly too.

Are you sure you got the tank full? I've noticed that some pumps will allow me to get more fuel in before cutting off than others. I've found that particular stations do this while others allow me to get more. I can tell too because I will get less mileage when I hit the different markings on the fuel gauge pending on these stations.

No money, all went to truck...
It drives me crazy too how people use the gas gauge to calculate MPG. I'd get 200 miles on a tank in my 97 4runner. I'd get 120 on the first half tank. My MPG was AWESOME!! But then for the second half of the tank it sucked!!!!!

I hate the quesiton "how many miles do you get per tank?" It means nothing..

How do you mean? miles per tank means nothing in terms of MPG when comparing different trucks and cars.
