Bought 2025 Tacoma sr5 last week. Trailer receiver, trailer receptacles. No trailer brake controller connector. I checked YouTube, saw the normal recent location for the connector at drivers kick panel. Tore everything back looked times, no connector. Called the dealer several times. The response was tough luck. Refused to provide even guidance as to connecting. Terrible. My 2006 Silverado work truck did better and gave me the harness to connect.
    False advertising.
    Thinking of taking it back.

And dealer said they cannot, will not provide a connector, as it would void warranty.
This is junk... Folks know better. All so you have to upgrade $5000?

I suppose so. I called complaining to Toyota. Just last years models seem to have had the connector.

Should have done your due diligence tow package only consists of the hitch reciever and the plugs for your trailer lights. Good news the Tacoma holds it's value now you can trade in for a real truck with a real tow package.:boink:

I can't speak for the 4th Gen, but the 3rd Gen was a genuine game of Where's Waldo to find that connector. It was neatly tucked and hidden behind a wire loom, meaning you couldn't find it until you fished and prodded for it.

Are you absolutely positively completely sure that it's not there? It would be really weird if a Toyota came with a 7 pin and not be prewired for a brake controller.

Same issue here. The Tacoma plug I found is not compatible with the REDARC. Left is Tacoma, right is REDARC. Can’t seem to find any others in there. I will have to wait until 1:30pm to contact the support team, being as they are in Australia.image.jpg

After a little research, I discover the tph -021 harness received, is wrong. Should have been the tph-015.
