I agree and thanks for the feedback @Kanyon71. Congrats again on the raffle drawing!

We do need to get our website on everything. The koozies are being made in my bedroom at the moment, so I'll have to check with the wife on what that vinyl process looks like . The smaller letters can be a whip to get done right. Eventually, when we can support the volume, merchandise stuff will probably get outsourced, too, so we can take advantage of economies of scale. The designs will definitely need to incorporate our website.

In the interim, I'm tasked with designing a label for retail packaging on the rub. Anyone good at that sort of graphic design? Know anyone that is? I'll be fumbling around trying to find a good layout. In the interim, all suggestions on that front are welcome :D.

Tell her to get on addin it then, tell her if it ain't on there post haste then she get's no "rub"

Determine what size the label needs to be then layout a box with that, you can put your logo either upper left or upper right with the company name coming off that, something like your card is laid out. From there you need to determine if you want a background type image on the hot one I would lay a nice flame pattern into the background and then in the space you lay out the name of the product and whatever your tagline for it is. Are you also supposed to be incorporating all the ingredient list and nutritional information on the label or will someone else take care of that?

Problem is, she knows I want the "rub", too .

We are paying to have it broken down for nutritional information. The ingredients list will be provided, both as a complete breakdown and in a list of minimum requirements for labeling. What I mean is, we have white pepper, black pepper, and paprika in the rub, but for labeling purposes, those all get rolled up under "spices". The shorter list will likely be on the nutrition portion and will be a separate label (label on the front with logo, label on the back with nutrition and ingredients).

I would like a little distinction in the label for the spicy. Flames, red background, different font, "SPICY" in the name, I don't know.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep 'em coming!

Hey I wasn't saying it wouldn't come without struggles. (that sounds bad too)

Ok so for your front you can use the flame background for the spicy then you just need to pick a background image that goes with the regular rub (nothing pervy lmao) that becomes your main variation and is usually some of the first things people will pick up. For your spicy you can add in your wording to include spicy in it, use a different font that goes with the theme of spicy. Under all of that goes your taglines for each. I'm not a graphic designer but I have done much of this for websites and stuff in the past.

Big thanks to the folks that have bought patches so far. We're slowly scraping together some money for relief efforts. I'm hoping to get some sent out tomorrow, but with competition coming up, I hope everyone is understanding if I don't get them all sent until early next week.

If anyone has a recommendation on a charity that will get the most bang for the donated buck, let me know.

RedCross has good margins, 90.1% of the donated money actually makes it to the people it is supposed to be helping

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Might split between them or just pick one.

We raised some funds for veterans one time and while looking for organizations, I was surprised at how much went to overhead and such for some of them. Good to find lean organizations where you can provide the most help.

@bvbull200 I just ordered a patch. Do me a favor though and don't ship it. Just use all the money for the donation. I already have the patch I won and appreciate what you're doing here.

Apparently that figure is debatable,Google Red Cross Haiti. I don't know enough about it to defend or deny the accusations but it's enough to make me look into donating to smaller and probably local charities. You can look up hurricane Harvey on charity navigator for other great options. I'm not knocking Red Cross at all, they definitely do a great deal of good for people
