    No kidding.
I asked, nope. I told them Sams had them, and I’d go there.

No pics of it (took WAY longer than expected thanks to my not paying attention to the smoker running out of pellets) but the pulled pork came out great. Rub adds such a great flavor. Going to have to stop at Costco on the way back from a baseball tourney this weekend and stock up on some brisket again.

Sadly no not in mine. It's 3-4 years old now. The newer stuff has it and I had started building a replacement controller for mine with a Raspberry Pi but it got put on the back burner because life lol. I was so annoyed with myself I watch the temp all the time and it hit a normal place it can stall so I didn't think much, it was there a while and then all the sudden it hit me. I ran out and sure enough no more pellets. Had to refill, not sure why but here in FL I seem to be going through a lot more than I used to back up north.

Good to hear it turned out great!

One time at competition, I had a similar issue. Because we were all up and had PLENTY of time to prep and have the smokers ready to cook, I started my drum early. Figured I'd give it a couple/few hours to come to temp and get to the good smoke. Tried to make it an ideal situation. Well, I ended up loading the smoker with meat (cooked like 4 briskets that time), which made the meat take a little longer and forced me to burn more fuel to keep temps. The drums usually give me a good 14-16 hours on a single load of fuel. Given that I killed 3 hours "preheating" and I was burning more fuel than normal during the cook, I actually ran out of fuel trying to finish the briskets. Didn't even notice until temps started dipping below 200*. Mad rush to get coal lit and get temps back up!

Got 'em done, but lost some valuable rest time.

Sucks when things like that happen. As long as the end product is edible it's all good though. Decent BBQ is still 10x better than a good salad. :)

After it happened I told the wife, well I think it's time for an upgrade lmao. Not sure if she was onboard for that or not.

New ones look pretty much like the old ones, right? Just swap them out and tell her you cleaned up the "old" pit.

Sadly no, more so I think she would miss the money from the bank account. :spending:

So I have to either find the stuff I have in storage and finish my replacement controller or start watching better.

In the meantime here is some leftovers from dinner last night. Was a good lunch.

We have new prizes added to our raffle! @Kanyon71 graciously donated these badass laser etched stainless steel tumblers. They look FANTASTIC. I wish I was able to capture a better picture, because the detail in the logo is really nice and the colors absolutely pop. I'm about to order a few for myself :D.

He's up and running at www.triplesengraving.com if you want to inquire about him shooting laser beams at stuff and making them look way cooler .

@Kanyon71, you're more than welcome to any of this space to provide any further details about your operation!

Thanks again. If anyone needs raffle tickets, they're at http://www.pitfacedbbq.com/competition-fundraiser.html

Don't have to be present to win :D.
