I'm suddenly really really hungry. Great color on that, and texture looks incredible.

It was really good. These may be my favorite thing to do. They are so easy to do, and hard to mess up.

Dipped each slice I ate in them. Poured the rest on the leftovers. I’ll be making something with it tomorrow. Wife wants potato ham chowder. So I’ll probably pull some to add to the taters while they are cooking.

How are you shipping? I promised some cheese to a member, but can’t figure out the best way to do it. Thought about small cooler with ice packs.

My way of giving back :fistbump:

Probably freeze, then dry ice and expedited shipping. A styrofoam cooler would work well for longer trips, but luckily this is just going a few hours north. There are cold shipping options too.

Thanks. I don’t want to freeze the cheese though.

@bvbull200 Finally got to the pork shoulder with your rub. Went with advice from a couple of the posts here. Patted down the pork and applied rub generously, and placed in the slow cooker on top of a bed of sliced onions, a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and a cup of chicken broth. Cooked on high for two hours and then low for six. Strained out the liquid, removed some of the fat, and combined with some Sweet Baby Ray's in a small pot. While that was heating and coalescing, shredded the pork which came apart beautifully. Combined the pulled pork, the onions, and the sauce mixture back into the pot for about 30 minutes on low. Then made some simple sandwiches. The flavor was awesome -- smooth, great combo of sweet and savory. Pork was very tender. Thanks again for the good stuff!

True. I'd just get a cold shipping box from FedEx then. Or pack in a box with some sort of insulation and gel packs. Should hold for a priority mail ship worth of time pretty easily.

Years ago I was given 5 blocks of American cheese that had been stored in a freezer. It was still sealed and in a box. It was damned good cheese.

Taste wise, people say it will be fine, but texture supposedly suffers.
