Besides removing the mud flaps (which is the FIRST thing that anyone should do with a Tacoma) and the leveling kit, what all did you need to do to clear those tires? (ie....trimming plastic? cab mount chop? etc....) Or do they clear OK for highway (and Mall parking lots) driving?

Why is removing the mudflats the first thing you should do, especially a mall crawler? Wouldn't you want the rocker protected from flying rocks? I only hear of the flaps becoming an issue when wheeling.

Lotta rub. 2 alignments and I still rub in reverse. I do have driveline vibrations. It's going to another shop to see if they can correct it. Apparently they've done a lot of those types of fixes post lift.

    Well skins trimmed.
    Cab mount shaved then primered.
Additional cutting/shaving required a second time on the cab mount was just done (we actually cut a bit of the mount away and welded in some reinforcement and re-primered.

Beautiful truck. Love looking at the stock/dealership photo next to the "current" photo. Such a dramatic change!

You didn't miss... I forgot to say. It's a pro-comp nitro block/spacer for now. The attempt was to maintain stock ride if I could but be able to run 285's. Staying with 17" gave it more sidewall so the ride is actually smoother than stock. BUT.... As one TW member said, I'll change my lift several times because of this site. I'm leaning toward full suspension. That's more to maybe drop the front down a half inch or so (rubbing may come back) and get my angles right behind the wheel. It sits pretty damn level but with the TRD Sport, I think ideal is 2.5" front and 1" in the back. I'm running about a 3" and 1", respectively.

Sorry it took so long to explain the kit.

I guess a lot of people on here put down their other rides too. Vehicles are my vice. I spend my money on my family and home first... Then savings... And when I have a bit leftover, I spend like a maniac on cars. I saved for 6 months before buying the taco and almost 9 before I bought the Sierra I traded for it. I take silly care of my vehicles too. So while it will get dirty, I doubt you guys will ever see that. Haha. Here's my other... quicker ride. image.jpg

You have to... It really depends on what you want it for... Some of the guys on here are heavy trail riders. So you'll find the gammot of different applications. But these guys are also the experts. There's 100x the information here from what you'd find over a shop.

    Happy hunting.

I figured you would have driveline issues, I'm on the fence about lifting but I really don't want to deal with the driveline issuses
