Places to go camping near Salt Lake

Just moves from the Seattle area and I have no idea where the good trails and places to camp are. Any ideas that are closer to salt lake would be greatly appreciated!!!

 

The entire Wasatch Range. Also the Uintas.

If you want to be in the valley then you’re gonna run into a lot of people. Take a cruise up American Fork Canyon, plenty of side roads and a couple small reservoirs.

Plenty of dirt roads to cruise as you get farther away from the valley.
