I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, the color of the whole truck is pure black...... except for one little part of it which is the bumper and it really drives me insane!!!! What have you guys done to color match it? Should I just plasidip it or would it crack and look terrible?

That's a pretty big thing to plastidip. You could try, it's cheap, and if it doesn't work just remove it. Be sure and use lots of coats. Otherwise they made color matched bumpers on the TRD Sport models, maybe find one at a junkyard. Which bumper, front or rear?

Oh plastidip! I dipped my rear bumper a couple years ago. Dip has stayed on ok through WI winters (salt). Use plenty of coats 5+, they also make a clear coat. I tried it I don’t know if it made a difference. It didn’t hurt it.

I dipped the bumpers on my '01, it was going on 2 years when I traded it for my '14 and was still looking good.

The good thing about plastidip is if you change your mind spray it with WD40, let it sit for awhile, and hose it off.

Oh, that spot. I don't think plastidip is gonna change the color a whole lot, plus its get a lot of rock chips. I'd try Back to Black or a similar product to see if it makes it darker. Or just spray paint it

Really? That's suprising, in person that part is like a super light grey! It can get so annoying lol in pictures it looks a lot darker... maybe I'll give it a shot and see what happens

I was like you. Didn't like that gray plastic piece wasn't black. I was gonna plasti-dip mine as well, but ended up getting it painted (due to an accident) instead. I like it better black. I say go for the plasti-dip, it simple and you can just peel it off if you don't like it.
Here's a before and after if you wanna see what color matched looks like. Screenshot_20180114-212026.jpg Screenshot_20180114-212225.jpg

You could also have a paint and body shop color match paint it, that would give the best results.

I powder coated my back bumper but it's metal, can't powder coat plastic but whatever method you go with black will look much better.

If you do want to plastidip it IIRC they make some sort of adhering spray thats suppose to make it stick better i THINK. Dunno if someone wants to chip in on this. I did my fender flares on my first gen taco used 8 coats of plastidip on each fender flare and the they lasted pretty good for a year or so. Dont put clear coat over it either, heard rumors it can make the plastidip shrink as it dries and pull it off. Like said before, if you dont like it you can peel it off, then you can remove that lower valence you are trying to paint and replace it with something badass like this!

Keep the plastic clean and put a quality trim dressing on it to keep it blacker.

I personally don’t like the black painted or dipped peice but to each their own.
