Saw many videos on Youtube of many people plasti dipping their Tacoma logos. Decided to try it out. Very easy to do i must say. All you need is one can of Plasti Dip ( black.) Masking tape, newspapers to mask of the area around the area you are dipping ( spray,) and tooth picks to clean out the area in middle of certain letters. Make sure you clean your logos very well. I used qtips to clean the hard to reach areas. When applying most videos say apply 5 coats every 30 minutes which i did. And i must say they came out awesome. Looked for a blackout logo kit for my truck. Saw one for $129.00. Plasti Dip was $5.98. Plasti Dip was the way to go for sure . Attached is a short video of a person doing a logo on a vehicle.

I ordered two cans to do this when they come hopefully this weekend. I bought gunmetal and dark grey not sure which I wanted to use for my badges on my black tacoma. I want a little bit of contrast between the badges and the truck but not a lot. What color is used here?

Said black on the can part # 11203-6. But to me it looks like Matte black . Lowes has them in stock. And the gun metal gray also. Think about using the gun metal gray also in areas.

It's gray. Tried to get a good picture to show the color. The masking color shows the color black better.

Used the grey on mine (and grill surround and wheels) and love it. I kinda half assed it the first time around, so they're starting fade after a couple years.

2 years seems pretty good to me though for something this simple and cheap. have you run your truck through a car wash much in that time. Wondering how it holds up through an automatic car wash.

Pretty well actually. I get a minimum of one automatic wash a month. I try for every couple of weeks.

Did my Prerunner grille when I got it. Kept the truck a year and it was still holding up great.

Then did my 16 TRD grille almost a year ago and it's still doing great. No issues at all.

I am planning to do my badges after having great luck with my grill. How do you remove the overspray without removing it from the actual badge itself?
