Was just bored at my house and decided to plasti-dip my fuel door. What do y'all think? [IMG]

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no. Just looks out of place. But what is this stuff and where do you get it? How durable is it, and does it come in colors as well?

Kinda bro in concept, but I've seen it on a few Tacoma's and it looked good. I think it looks good if the rest of the truck isn't overly bro.

Got a pic of the whole driver side?

Plasti-Dip is widely available. Available in most colors, some specialty colors, even clear and metallic. I've had it on my wheels for over a year. If you don't like it peel it off (fully reversible). Check out the PLASTI DIP MEGA THREAD.

O.P. If that is the look you're going for, maybe blaze orange would really make it pop:rolleyes:, not my thing though:D.

Here is the full view of the driver's side. The derped fuel door does not look too horribly out of place, but I'm still deciding on whether I like it or not.

Thanks for the input guys! It's something different & naturally some people will like it, and some will hate it. I personally think it looks good because of my black flares and silver color, and I haven't really seen it done on any other color scheme. Good thing it's temporary though, because it's the kind of thing that I will probably not like as much down the road.

I dont think it looks good or bad. I think it really just turns into a focal point on the side now. It draws your eye to the fuel door instead of the rest of the truck to me. Again it doesn't look bad though.

I like it. Those black flares need something to help make them softer looking. I think the fuel door helps draw the paint and flares together.

I think you're onto something. Do the hood and roof.

Was thinking about that while doing my fuel door. I think that would look sick, but I'm honestly a bit nervous about doing large areas like that. More prone to chipping and uneven layers, drip marks, etc. - and a LOT of plastidip! If I can round up the courage to do it, I definitely will.

I thought it looked dumb in the first pic but when I see the whole side I actually like it. I don't know why but it seems to go good with the flares.

It'll be worth it just for the stone chip protection. Go for it... shit do the bottom of the doors and rockers, too.

Thanks! Hey if all else fails, I know a couple guys that used Rhino-Liner on their flares. Looks awesome!

I don't know if the bottom of the doors would look good on an access cab, but I did find these 3M door protector things that go on the sides of your car & help protect against people ramming their door into you. Not sure what they're called though. I think they would accent the flares pretty nicely ... but I also don't want to over-do the accenting haha

With black flares a little goes a long way IMO, if you did more black where your painted surfaces are I think it'd look way too Mad Max.

The fuel door is just enough to make it look cohesive, anything more and for me it kills contrast, and make it too blacked out.
