So my flares are looking pretty dated. They look good if I shine them up but only for a few days. Has anyone plasti dipped there fender flares? I've read the plasti dip mega thread but looking for pictures.

try slightly melting the plastic with a heat gun. it should get rid of the oxydation and bring back the original look.

Yes x2 on this. I have a write-up on it. Works great. I also tried plasti dip before that. And it sucked. Will never use that crap again. For one, any rocks that happen to smack the underside, will create an opening for dust and debri to get in, and cause it to start peeling. Two, if you do any kind of offroading and expect to snag a branch, it will cut into the plasti dip and create the same issue. Of you're a street queen. Then it might be ok. But heat gun is super easy. Lasts quite a long time, and can easily be treated again. I just redid mine the other day. Did it on the front bumper valence too. Little time consuming but probably less time than plasti dipping it.
    Edit: here's my write-up

i did it to my truck, a while back...but, one thing i did wrong was waited till the stuff was totally dry to take off my masking tape...seems like you're supposed to do that while it's still tacky...i kinda want to re do it later...this was when i first got the truck about 3 years ago, and most of it is gone by now

haha, i don't either now, to be honest...it was a crap pic on both...

anyway, it wound up going from all grey and crappy looking to actually a decent kinda matte/flat black color...i did like it while it was there, but like i said, since i peeled the tape off way after it was all dry, it started to peel the stuff off, and it didn't last very long...

also, i noticed the bit on top of the filler neck goes quick if ya spill gas on it...

I haven't tried the heat method yet but have heard good things.

I can tell you that magic erasers do a great job too.

I did plasti dip. Looks great for a month, then the color starts to fade. Redid it with paint and a clear coat and it holds up and looks a lot better. Maybe plasti dip and clear coat would look good?

If you clear on the dip you wont be peeling it off. You can spray glossifier on it though and still peel it later..

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
pull them off, treat them to Monstaliner, (www.monstaliner.com) reinstall. You might want to do the inside of your bed at the same time, assuming it needs attention?

Don't have to be black either, you can pick some other complimentary color if you wish.

Paining is way easier and looks better. I left mine on the truck and taping it off took was the worst part. Even that wasn't bad,

-wash with dish soap and a scrub brush
-wet an abrasive pad like a scotch write pad and scrub the fender flare
    -wipe dry
-wipe down fender flares with a rag and alcohol
-once dry, spray with adhesion promoter
-before AP is dry, spray with bumper/trim paint
    -apply another coat or two
-once paint is dry give it a couple coats of clear enamel

    done
