Hey guys! I will get plasti dip done for the rims, emblem, and front grill(maybe) on my 3rd gen MGM tomorrow.

Mine is the SR model, so the front grill is already black. Do you guys think if I should still do the front grill to let it have the same tone as the emblem?

And which finish looks better, Matte Black or Satin/Gloss Black?

    Thanks

It's all personal preference. I personally don't like any chrome to be on my truck so everything is blacked out on mine. I also prefer a matte finish as it looks a little more rugged than a gloss.

Cool. I am also kinda leaning towards matte finish now. What about the front grill? it is already black but should i still do it to match with the emblem?

I don't really know what the the sr grille black looks like, but I'd probably leave it. But again, it's all personal preference. Don't let people on the Internet make your decision. You'll be the one looking at it every day!

Did the grille today, I think it looks way better, figured I would give it a shot before dropping $450 on a pro grille

Did you have a heated space to Dip it or is it ok to spray in cold weather?

It was -15 celcius here today , it says to be + 10 celcius from what I read, I had to warm up my garage and remove my grille to do it inside . It is super easy to remove though. I did my emblems back in the summer and they are holding up well through the cold weather though

I just did mine tonight. I left only the Toyota logo and the trd badge chrome. Adds a bit of contrast. Did about 7-8 coats.

Pro tip.... Warm the can in hot water so it doesn't come out chunky. First few coats looked terrible and I was nervous. This was my first time using Plastidip. Looks much better imo
