Is it just two screws and two self tapping tabs to get it off? Was thinking of taking mine off when i dip it again this time around.

To get it off the truck, I believe it was just 2 screws on the top and then a few plastic clips - one on each side and one hidden in the middle at the bottom.

yeah, two bolts topside, two side tabs and one in the bottom middle. How did you take the insert out? mine looks like it was chromed, inserted, and then the tabs were heated and bent over. Is there a non-destructive way to get it apart?

I used a couple small flathead screwdrivers and carefully/gently pushed out each clip, starting on the outside and working my way across.

I used glossifier on my plastidipped parts.
    Seems to hold up longer.
It comes in gloss and matte finishes.
Dipyourcar Topcoat is Even better than Glossifier but need gun to spray.

I got mine wrapped by **********. They have a lot of wraps, with lots of types and colors to choose from. You should also check Gatorprints.

running boards, Bakflip bed cover, tint......so far.

I don't have any good pics that show how close it would be to the metallic gun metal but it is very close. I actually bought a grill on craigslist to do whatever wrapping or painted I decided to go with. it was MGM color and I got impatient and just put it on to see how it would look just like that. I really liked it with my black paint. kind of a different shade of dark on the front that kind of matched the gray paint I put on the skid plate. Anyway if you stand back a bit I looked just like the carbon fiber wrapped grill I put on next. I think it would blend in very well with the MGM if you used it.

@ManBeast What chemicals did you use to strip your chrome? I was thinking about doing the same with hydrochloric acid. Everything that I have read said it would not harm the plastic. I have not had the time to attempt it yet, also a little hesitant. Thanks!

I used great value bleach. Pool clorine would have been better, i let it sit for hours and i beleive i nutrilized the bleach as it didnt burn my nostrils anymore and it stopped SLOWLY pitting the metal. It was eating through in tiny pinholes that grew. I also had trouble finding a tote big enough. Technically i never found one big enough, just enough for 1/3 of it to be submersed. Its currently dipped. Goodluck with your ventures. And keepeth me posted.

Is this just black plasti dip? It looks more like a gunmetal grey almost. Might be the lighting too...

Op. Did you ever color match your grille? If not may I suggest red like @Comatose did on his truck
