No. You have to lay down plasti dip glossifier over it. Gives it a glossy finish.

You can use glossifier, and clear depending on your needs. Out of the can it is a matte finish.

This is all dip, wheels to roof (the metal parts), even the exhaust tips.

2g clear, 1g gloss + copper pearl. Mix thoroughly, bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes :)

Dipped the gas door a few coats. Not sure how well it will hold up having to open the door every week or so...image.jpg

Did the front grill and bumper roughly two weeks ago, and hope it lasts for awhile. Cleaning and prep took twice as long as it did to dip, but it turned out alright. Chrome rear bumper is next. Just wanted each of them to last until they are replaced with aftermarket items, fingers crossed.

$27 a can for Plasti Dip?? I get it at Wally World or Home Depot for $5 or $6 bucks a can.

I dipped all the chrome on my bumpers and badges using maybe 3 or 4 cans (learning curve was involved).

Word of advice: when masking off areas using tape, be sure to pull the tape off BEFORE the pasti-dip dries. Otherwise when you pull the masking tape off, all your hard work comes off with it :(

Wheels with dip. I used Rustoleum bedliner on front bumper and skid plate.
All have held up well for a few years now.

Anyone have issues with dips rims with the lugs on or did you take the wheels off? A friend of mine did it with the wheels on, but hasn't had the tires changes or rotated yet and I'm curious if it will hold or cause some problems.

No problems here, dipped my wheels ON took one of the tires off recently to repair a flat. No issue other than the lugs lost some dip. Easy fix.

After reading your post I decided to check Plasti Dip pricing at the local Home Depot. I was shocked that it's $22.97 a can plus 13% sales tax. Even with the currency exchange rate it's still way more expensive here in Canada.

some people use it to protect the surface underneath or to add a gripy texture to something but most people use it for the appearance.

i used on my centre console where i was scared regular paint would chip. its help up great!
