He's messin' with you man. Please don't cut holes in your bed. Take the bed off and get a flat-bed. You may not be styling but you get the best of both worlds. Put the regular bed in storage!

Just an FYI , you can put a couple 2x4's across the bed into the bedside notches , this leaves you a level platform for sheet goods , if you notch the 2x4's the tops will be flush to the tops of the wheel wells and the cast ledge around the bed

    Here's some info

FYI , you could build a temporary platform at the wheel well height , put the sheet goods on there and sore your bazooka and taping tools underneath

That stuff was always too hard for me.

I don't like it hard. I like it soft so you can put a whole thing in your mouth. The bad part was trying not to dribble. LOL

The first time you put tape in the corner like that, you get to the end and look back, the tape if comming off fast and wraps around your head.

I don't know man, my bed has held up to some abuse, I've hualed 2 loads of concrete, the first load was 1,560lbs and the second load was around 1,080lbs and I mean we threw them rocks in the bed, I've thrown washing machines down in the bed, broke bottles in the bed, branches, hualed 800lbs of scrap car parts that did smash pretty hard into the bed, so far no holes but j can see the white composite .I do wish it had damn stake pockets!! But I'm getting a trailer so my bed can take it easy. My little plastic bed has been paying for itself every month!

I'm looking for ideas and advice on organizing stuff in the bed of my '09 taco in light of the fact that composite truck beds have their limitations....
I know that I can buy and install D-rings for the forward end utilizing the bolts securing bed to frame.
I've got a Stanley toolbox that I've got somewhat held down using the bed rail cleats and a bungee cord. Fire extinguisher, tiedowns, work gloves and chain are tucked away in the cubby holes. Also have a box with DOT emergency triangles that I'd like to get secured. Every bit helps ;-)

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
This shouldn't come as a surprise unless they're supposed to be stainless or steel, although I've seen stainless rust too once that coating wears or flakes off. Too bad we can't have an aluminum body/frame Tacoma, then there'd be no rust to ever worry about! Of course, then they'd last forever and Toyota wouldn't sell as many new trucks so maybe rusty frames is a Toyota conspiracy theory to sell more Tacomas? Lol kidding, of course.

I put D-Rings on the floor of the forward end of the bed by the cab, no issues. You can install them in the bed, you just have to put steel plate on the underside to spread out the force. (drivers side is a PITA because of gas tank)
