No prob, the shelf life thing, I'm not sure. Likely not very long. I used it as well on my sliders on my 80 series cruiser. On the truck bed, I was young and impatient when I did it. If I did it again I'd do 4 or 5 coats and I would've roughed up the painted surfaces it went on more. Typical paint style project, the end result will be directly related to the prep put in.

This isnt herculiner but ist rust oleum bedliner. Everything you see black is the bedliner. Two coats of bedliner and two coats of glossy clear coat keeps it looking shiny after the painting. Looks great and works great!!

What if you have the power outlet and the storage cubbys in the bed?

Tape off the power outlet so no paint gets in it and also are you wanting to paint the storage cubbys?

I would like to remove my plastic bedliner and sand down/paint on Herculiner on my truck bed.
@blitz10: What kind of scuff pad did you use with your drill?
What kind of brushes do you recommend for this project if the foam rollers aren't good?

The guy who created the thread ripped out his old bed liner and coated the bed with hurculine. I don't see how that would work if there are cubbies and a power outlet in the bed.

The guy who created the thread also performed this on his 1st gen tacoma. We don't have composite beds like 2nd and 3rd gens do.
