The mesh is made into the grille. I just measured it. It is 5/16" thick (front to back) and is pretty impact resistant. It is ABS so I am sure it would take more of an impact than say the covers that are on my offroad lights.

Where I live in Georgia, and I am sure it is the same in Tennessee, the wild turkeys and the vultures have mated and we call them turkey-vultures. They will sit on the pavement eating road kill until you are a few feet away, then fly up and knock out a headlight, grill or break your radio antennae. They are ugly, big and dirty.

There is nothing you can do about it I guess, except buy a surplus military vehicle. Down here, dead fawns are found daily, and this year I have seen more snakes than I have in years! In the fall and winter, just about sun up and sun down, deer will run into the SIDES of your car.

Yep we have turkey vultures as well. I’m around knoxville area, but not in the city luckily. and yeah i ran one of those things over on the road i live on. and one time i was coming around a corner and i thought there was turkeys in a field, nope it was just a group of turkey vultures.

and I have not seen many dead deer this year.i did almost hit a fawn one day it crossed following it’s mother.

and yeah we have about 5 acres, and i have seen a lot of snakes. It’s because we had such a mild winter. Mom is deathly afraid of snakes, If she walked out the door and one was on the porch she would probably have a hart attack.

I have some friends that live out towards Clinton (Raccoon Valley Rd) that I visit once a year on our way up to Stinkin' Creek. They were telling me about a lot of rattlers up there this year, too. I dont mind a black snake, but the rattlers can mess up your whole day!
