Plastic fasteners that plug in and hold the mud flaps to the truck?

    Hey everyone.
Last week when I had removed my mud flaps, I had broken most of the plastic fasteners that hold them(with screws) into the truck. I went to two auto stores and I couldn't find any of them. One guy at the last store said "that it didn't matter, most of them are the same". I figured since he was young and really didn't have any idea of what I was talking about. So I am wondering where can I find them? What are they're called.

They are similar to the ones that hold the front grill in but the bottom is not connected. When you push the top down the bottom spreads out to hold the plastic part into three long pieces to hold into the truck.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

I get mine from the dealer because I like all of them to look the same. They cost me .75 a piece at the stealership. But you can get them at any autoparts store. The only thing is that they will not look like the originals. Most of them are the same diameter though.

Dealer is you best bet. Might try Ace Hardware if any are in your area. They have a very good fasteners selection.

I try to avoid buying parts from the dealer if I have to because of the mark-up. Since that I can't really find them, I don't really have a choice. We don't have Ace Hardware here in Canada. I'll check out some other stores and see what I can come up with since the dealership parts is closed until Tuesday(Long Weekend).

yup, $2 each up here at the dealership, not going to kill you to spend $12 though, you probably spent that driving around already, lol

That's actually pretty good. I thought that it was going to be $3-5 dollars for one. I paid more for the fasteners that go into the grill from an Auto Parts store because I thought the Dealership would be cheaper. I guess the Dealership isn't always the most expensive.

I bought a bag of them off ebay for a much better deal than the dealership.

I had just Plasti Dipped my stock ones, really no point of those ones. Well, unless I rip the stock ones off. It's the mounting hardware(plasticware) that I need, not the whole mud flap. I'll keep these in mind though if I wanna change my stock ones.

Do you happen to know what the actual name of these parts are called? I don't think that I am saying it right.

Black Sand Pearl factory paint - flattened "au natural" by tree branches.
I went to the dealership for some clips that fell out of my inner fenders and they messed around for 20 minutes trying to figure out which clips hold the fenders in. Then they gave me some clips and told me I had to go by screws that screw into the clip after I push it into the fender. I told him wtf I've bought these before these are the wrong ones, there's no screw sticking out of the ones that are still in the fenders now. They never did figure out which clips actually go in them.

In all the years I worked for the dealers, we just called them "Push Pals" Not sure if that is the generic name or not.

They're just a plastic rivet. McMaster Carr has all kinds of them.

How did you take them out? I hate the flap on front tire. Clearance is that of a minivan with those suckers.

I just used screws that fit the holes when I installed mine...much stronger and don't have to replace them if I remove the flaps for some reason. Home Depot sells bags that will be cheaper than the clips.

I used these anchors. The dealer ones kept coming out. These have been in for months and don't seem to be getting loose. I only used the plastic anchor without the screw.
