Hey guys so I derp'd my rims, but I really want to have the chrome Toyota logo show through. My problem is that everytime I try to peel the chrome off the logo, some of the derp comes of in places that I don't want (eg. the holes in between the toyota logo) and I keep having to respray and try again.

I have tried a toothpick and xacto knife but it just doesn't seem to help in the smaller holes in between the logo.

Anyone have any luck with this? Thanks!

If you take off the center cap you will see 3 retention clips that attach the emblem to the center cap. Undo those with a flat head screw driver and the emblem will pop right off, allowing you to peel the emblems.

I have to take off the wheels to pop off the center cap right? Unfortunately, I don't have a jack :(

Smear the logo with vaseline/chapstick then wipe away after painting.

Or mask it up with masking tape, trim away excess with a craft knife where you want paint leaving logo covered until completion of painting, then carefully remove tape.

No, you don't have to take off your wheels, you can just pop those suckers off like Suds said.

No you don't need a jack to remove the center caps. Consult your owners manual if you're not sure how to remove them.

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
Mineral spirits and a q tip will re constitute the derp and u can then use a clean q tip to wipe the wet dip off. Also if u get a tear in dip u can use mineral spirits to smooth out the area the apply another top coat instead of starting completely over

Thanks for the advice guys. I always thought the clips for the center caps were behind the wheels. Guess I was wrong lol
