I just taped around it. Taping it is a little meticulous with making sure you get the corners right and cover it perfectly but mine came out great.

Here’s mine. I think it came out good. Plan on upgrading to a bumper eventually but should be good for now. I applied several coats of black and several coats of glossifier. I heard it’s important to apply enough coats for durability and ease of removal. I pulled the top cap off and the chrome caps and sprayed them individually.

If applied evenly and you do your prep work, it’ll look great. People who want a quick but perfect finish often hate plasti dip. I did all my emblems on my old 4Runner and got compliments but then people would say “oh it’s just plasti dip.” o_Oo_Oo_O

Just did it on my 17 OR two weekends back. World of difference. Shouldn't have waited so long. When I take the dog out in a sec I'll grab a pic for you.

I removed mine and didn't sand or prep in any way. Just wiped them down and gave it ton of coats till I was satisfied. Removal and reinstall (once dry) only took a couple minutes. Still looks great after about 6 months.

I haven’t used any other sprays other than the Plasti-Dip and Rustoleum.

Did you take the caps off or leave them on?

He’s doing group buys. They are special order. He’s got some coming in soon. Go to the thread and post that you want in on the next list.

I’d think plastidip would be easy application and easy touch ups.

But am I the only one that LIKES the chrome caps? Kind of has that retro vibe to it.
