    Howdy Tacoma World!

I’ve been tossing around the idea of mounting a plate bumper to my Tacoma strictly on the basis of adding a winch for what little off-roading I do and some front end protection. I don’t go down trails or take my truck through ORV parks. I mainly use it around my farm and occasionally pull folks here and there on the hunting club.

From what I have seen, most everyone uses the 3” OME lift with the heavy rated springs to carry the weight. However, is it possible to mount a plate bumper, keep my stock ride height, and not have the nose of my truck dragging the dirt?

I went with a pretty minimal bumper setup and a 10k lb winch because my use is pretty much exactly what you describe. With a 70 lb bumper and an 80 lb winch the front end is dipped notably. I went with a set of toytec 620lb springs with bilstein 5100s on the lowest setting. From what they told me when I purchased I should see about 1" of lift in the front (from original stock height) which will really just level me out and help manage the extra weight.

Unfortunately I haven't installed yet so I can't tell you how well it worked.
