Platz-Form - Platforms for Double Cab Tacomas (Full & Half Length)

Very cool idea.

 

I am going to work on getting a video put up today showing the simplicity of install / removal. Will also snap a few extra photos while I'm at it. Any specific picture requests you guys are interested in seeing?

 

Great thoughts, I will definitely keep these in mind for potential second or third generations of the platforms. My goal at first was simplicity to keep the cost down as much as possible since the only other real option out there for platforms are around 1000 dollars. But I do like appreciate all 4 of your ideas and will keep them in mind. Thanks!

 

I really like this idea, will it be able to stay in place folded behind the seats so it would just be a quick fold down when needed? I switch between passengers, and hauling dogs/gear quite a lot, also any chance of having a "hybrid" option that allows the use of the full panel when no pax, but will also allow for the small seat to be open for pax?

 

If this hits well with the double cab crowd any chance of taking a whack at an Access cab version, Specifically one for the guys that do the rear seat delete? I could guarantee if you posted this in the Access Cabs rule Double cabs Drool thread you would get a ton of people looking for a product like this.

I definitely have plans for expansion, including other models of Tacoma's like AC, as well as moving on to other trucks like Tundra, F150, etc. I just own the DC Tacoma so started here because it was something that did not exist that I really wanted, so decided to make it and I figured others might be interested in the same thing!

 

Just as an update to everyone subbed, I have created an install video and am wrapping up editing/publishing and will have that posted on here this evening.

 

If you’d like someone to test access cab products on let me know! Lol I’d love to help get something started

 

I do not currently have any plans for a hybrid model like you are describing but will consider it as the concept seems cool. See my video posted above to show how easy it is to install/remove, maybe that will better explain how quick and easy it is to get it in and out to be able to quickly change from passengers to dogs/gear.

 

Video came out great, super simple and easy! I know I'll be snatching one soon, maybe even spray it with some bedliner in a can to combat things sliding around too. Nice work!

Does this fit over the storage bins behind the rear seats in a 3rd gen, or would they have to be removed?

 

Yes it will fit. Fits in 2nd and 3rd gens, with or without the storage cubbies/bins.

 

Just to be clear and address that again, as you can see in my video, I have removed the factory plastic storage bins/cubbies. The platforms have been tested in both 2nd and 3rd gen double cabs with or without the factory cubbies intact and fitment was the same across the board. The cubbies/bins do not play a role in whether or not the platform will fit.
