Hey guys, I have a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with 60k miles. Just brought it in for an oil change and mechanic says I need a left lower ball joint as there is some play in it. I called Toyota for an estimate and they say they have never had to replace a ball joint on an 09 Tacoma and that it does not sell separately (comes together with control arm or something or other).

    Questions are:

    1) is it normal for there to be some play on the ball joint? If so how much
    2) Anyone else have this type of experience?

    Much appreciated
