Man, the voice recognition on the 3rd gen SUCKS. It almost never works when I'm asking for directions or setting a destination, etc. It's actually comical how far off it is most times. But I have like 80gb of music and the one thing it gets right damn near every time is when I say "Play the song X".

Kinda fun to mess around with that much music... driving along telling my truck to play random songs that pop in my head... sometimes I'm surprised by what I have in my collection!

You haven't experienced voice dialing in a 2011 Subaru WRX with the factory SPT exhaust. Shit is literally useless and got so enraging that it went full circle back to being hilarious.

Shouting as slowly and clearly as I can DIAL ONE TWO THREE FIVE FIVE FIVE SIX ONE EIGHT ONE

Display says 23#4829#*312*321#43**8  Yes indeed, it added stars and pounds in there.

Anyways, sometimes voice recognition does freak out and you sort of have to understand that it's looking for the way it thinks something is pronounced. For instance a road name that's someone's last name. "Kreibel" road might be pronounced "kree-bul" but the voice recognition thinks it's supposed "cry-bell" and so it'll never ever pick it up if you say it right. One of the shortcomings of voice recognition, and not an easy one to fix.

Just out of curiosity but did you go through the voice learning before trying to use it? I've actually been surprised on how well it does work, even with the windows down.
