Ok here's a question nobody asked....which you gonna pick up more girls in...a Colorado or a Tacoma?

In the Colorado commercial, they asked the children what kind of pet would this man have if he drove a Colorado? The real question is...why is that man driving a Colorado? I drive a Tacoma and you should ask me what kind of pets I have. I got a fire breathing 2 headed western diamondback rattlesnake and Caiman alligator with laser rays. That Colorado guy has what...a border collie dog?

    Nuff said.

You SHOULD buy the Colorado...I did, and absolutely love it. I was very much considering the new Taco, but decided on the Colorado and have not looked back. Will the a '16 Taco hold it's value better than a '16 Colorado? Maybe.. probably not much... if at all. Most of the resale value and reliability Toyota lovers tout is perceived...the times have changed....it's not the 80s and 90s any more...the US knows how to make trucks.

More HP, more torque, better (or the same) gas mileage, more towing capacity, better looking (open to debate, but come on..that front-end), comes in a diesel...the better question is why buy the Toyota? And don't say "reliability" and "resale" because those are cliche, old-school, overused, close minded fanboy responses.

The US made better trucks back then :notsure:

You can sell a 2010 Tacoma 4 cylinder 4wd access cab with 80k miles for $22,500

What can you sell a 2010 Colorado same scenario for? Try half that.

Consumer Reports is a joke and kill the Taco year after year, btw. Anyway, look closer, they are talking about the sound system... that's CR for ya, least reliable vehicle list and all they are sighting is a bug in the radio, haha.

Still living in the past, huh? You are talking about a 2nd gen Taco and the old Colorado. If you haven't heard, the GM Twins are a major overhaul and shook up the market...and the Taco is a new gen, first in 10 years....it's a new game!

The US as always made good trucks.

The past dictates the future. How many times have people said "GM xxx is a major overhaul and is shaking up the market" over the last 15 years. Time, after time, after time. It's another failure waiting to happen.

my old 2006 colorado with 120,xxx miles on it. Barely got 5k for it when I sold it. It had so many issues with the electronics on this thing I sold it and picked up my Tacoma. Love the Taco much more than this yellow piece of junk.IMG_4415.jpg

Yea, 'cause GM is not selling trucks and BOFs like mad.... but whatever, stick with Toyota if you think there are, always have been, and always will be the only company that can make a good truck....seems pretty close minded to me.

"the past dictates the future" wow, talk about a way to get yourself in trouble....how easy life would be if that were true. :)

for about 16500. and the colorado cost about 4k cheaper new. so, there is about a 2k dollar difference. Still enough to say the resale value is better for the Toyota.

I do NOT support this guys view.... 2nd Gen taco is probably the best quality built truck you can buy. The new twins are tied with the 2nd gen IMO.

If I knew the answer to that question, I would know what kind of soccer moms and chicks you hang around with....so why would I have to ask? Just thought I'd point out that logic flaw in your lame-ass attempt to be funny.

In 2012, my 2006 Colorado 4cyl 4wd single cab with slider, excellent condition, and new upper end traded at $6500. Private party value was 8500 or so but I was terrified to sell it privately.

Today my 2010 tacoma 4cyl 2wd single cab is still listed around 13 with 56k.

When has GM not sold trucks hand over fist? They are a good value when priced cheaply. The reality is, if a Colorado was 35% less cost than a Tacoma it would be a better choice for the short term. If you plan to keep the vehicle 15/20 years then the Toyota is the way to go.

I fail to see where I said Toyota is the only company to make a good truck.

Any car/truck is a bad investment. "VW Beetle?" What the hell are you talking about? How on earth did you NOT get from my sentence that I was discrediting Consumer Reports...nothing more?

I was replacing a 12 year old Tacoma that had zero issues ever and I was able to sell for 72% of my original purchase price. Maybe I am a fan boy but that had to factor into my decision.
