I consider buying a Tacoma (or Toyota) an investment. I'm going to get a lot more bang for my buck in the long run as far as reliability and resale value than I would a Chevy or GMC truck. Once I'm ready to trade in or privately sell my Tacoma, I'll have that much more to put down on a new Toyota or if I want to go to hell, put that money towards a different brand.

Easy there Yosimite Sam. Take a breath hoss. Because 1) text only communication is a piss poor method of communication.
    2) I happened to scan an issue at work today that covered '15 vehicles. The Colorado was listed as lowly as the electrical gremlin that is the Beetle. The Taco wasn't mentioned at all, but the Tundra had high marks.

CR's opinion of my vehicle doesn't validate or invalidate my purchase. My personality isn't based on the products I buy. I'm not a lifestyle brand person. I'm a former F150 owner who was holding out for the new Canyons, but a lady decided to total my F150 months before the Canyon was released. I wound up in a Taco and I'm mostly pleased with it.

    How about you?

Did you want me to call you? hahaha. What's with the "Yosemite Sam" and "hoss" stuff? lol... I was still just discrediting CR as garbage, nothing more....not sure where you are trying to go with this.

Navigating through the GM Twins forums is a major clusterfuck. Worst operating forum I've seen. Went there once to see what all the hoopla was and haven't returned since. I sure do see a lot of their fans still lurking the TW site though. Glad to have you guys with us...:argue:

An investment is an expenditure on an asset that is expected to appreciate in value or generate earnings. Almost all automobiles depreciate and should be considered an expense. The goal for many of us is to limit the expense. Unless you are buying a Ferrari. Then tear it up Justin Beiber and no worries.

I've owned two Chevrolet Silverados and now two Tacomas.

I love my Tacomas as they fit me and my lifestyle perfectly. I honestly cannot foresee buying my another vehicle for the next twenty years or so, unless it's a 1972 Chevelle.

That being said, I really enjoyed owning and driving my Silverados. I sold them both to friends and they're still on the road with over 250k mi. on the odometer.

Can't see somebody spending that kind of money for any vehicle with 80k miles. Even Toyota, @22k just buy new.

But they (gen 1 colorado) are still selling for that with ease. And I will be the 1st to admit. Terrible trucks.

All this shows really is modern vehicles overall are holding thier values better.

I've said it before. I work on GM's (colorados) for a living and own a Tacoma. If you are looking for a car with a bed, the colorado is for you.

Consumer reports just gave the Colorado really bad reliability ratings for its first year out
