Shouting into the void here. For myself, I grew up with GM products. I hated their AT programming then and 30yrs later, they still program them the same way. Ask for more than half throttle and the thing drops down all the gears, revs uselessly at redline for a few seconds, then finally upshifts to where it should have been or should have held the initial gear. Beyond that, even on GM products that I like, there is the feeling of engineering by a very large committee that always turns out bad (like the anti-Ford / at FCA, it always felt like the designer ranked over the engineers). Not to mention the very public quality issues GM has had recently.

I liked our half-GM'ed 2001 saab since the Swedes retained a lot of control. The GM bits, like the steering rack mounts were a problem. My boss's Solstice GXP MT is a hoot to drive and sit in, but the look and feel of the interior was just garbage. If it was given to me for free, I'd own it for a while and dump it.

On the Twins, it is nice to see more mid-size pickups. The exterior styling isn't bad, esp on the GMC. But, I just couldn't bring myself to even sit in one. Also, the lack of real MT options.

I won't even touch on the pathetic GM ads these days (all ads suck, but. . .) other than saying it was bad enough to put up with 'real people' ads. Now, somehow mysteriously tying in secret family appearances to justify a car? I have nothing but contempt for that waste of time, and I don't even have cable. . .
