Best to use online card buyer sites, they’ll price for your area, market, options, etc etc etc.

Seems low, but could be normal for your area.

Dealer offered me 30k for my 2018 with 40k on just 3 months ago.

    KBB is a decent source.

TFL got one of the first 2024 Tacomas and took it to CarMax after 4 days to see what they'd value it at. CarMax offered them around $7k less than they paid.

Trade value from a dealer is always overstated to the value of the vehicle so you feel good. They make it up on the sale side.

Cash value for an outright purchase would be a more realistic number.

I'd say the Blue Book value might be a good spot to start.
I might also check NADA as well.

They still do, but that doesn't account for buying when they are high/not much below MSRP. The old value retention was when you could get several thousand off MSRP. That hasn't been the case lately, and the "values" haven't been adjusted to account for that because it would benefit the customer.

You paid a premium during the height of the Covid mania. Why not just sell privately instead of trading at a discount to the dealer?

Retail values are flat while wholesale prices(trade in) keep dropping! Go figure that's how dealers make money.

Acording to KBB and CarMax My 23 OR with 2k on it, is worth about 38k. There have been just too many things I don't like with my 23 for me to keep it much longer. 16 mpg is just ridiculous, I had a 97 Chevy with a 5.7L V8 that got 18 mpg in the city. It's best to wait until the summer to sell, right now is a good time to buy.

Have you changed anything on it? What kind of driving are you only getting 16 MPG? Are you remote starting a lot?

Bone stock. Cincinnati is hilly, so mpg always takes a hit, but this thing has no low end grunt at all, and it doesn't rev free all at the same time. The 2gr-fks may run for 500k but it's a dog. I took a trip on the highway today and mpg made it up to 17.1 mpg. Again Cincinnati and northern Kentucky is hilly.
