Wow, this is really taking off. I am stunned how many people are willing to support a complete stranger. Sometimes I worry I am the last guy who changes tires in the rain, holds a door, etc. Feels good to know there are more people out there. :)

On the email idea, I am holding back until one more "screw over" incident. I realize that would be a flood-gate issue.

Friday afternoon I missed a call from my Toyota Case Manager, I was on the flight line, so I am waiting to hear what he has to say on Tuesday. I can only imagine it is a "what did the dealership do" call. It kills me, the dealership says their hands are tied by Toyota, but when I call Toyota, the case manager only asks what the dealership told me. My last conversation with the Case Manager, I refused to give him any more information and told him I was sick of this "whispering behind the curtain business." Before I say another word to him on Tuesday, I am asking what his legal credentials are. For all I know, he might be a lawyer on retainer for Toyota. Talk about giving the enemy your details. Guess SERE-C made me paranoid. lol.

It cracks me up, 5 years of working in kitchens to get through college, 1.5 years of flight school and too many Army schools to list to earn my first new truck and here I sit. I want my 14 year old Silverado back! lol. She was spotless and ran everyday without hesitation.

I am still firing off a couple letters to Toyota, the dealership and anyone local I can think of. Can't hurt. And it keeps the paper trail going. Also, before I left, the techs gave me all their papers incase the truck crapped out in PA again. I made copies of everything and put them in a safe place. Another kick, the dealership is a MAJOR local one. They have atleast 6 different lots and they sell EVERY brand of car, excluding exotics. So their pockets were more than deep enough to have atleast offered a rental right off the bat.

Well, it's passed my bedtime. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this effort! It is all deeply apprecaited.

You know Toyota corporate dosen't like bad customer service. If you go to them with the problem it would help. Dealers are rated by customer satisfaction. It is real high on the importance list. Trust me if you have enough complaints about the dealer they will look into it.

    Hi Tacomadog,
I do understand what you are saying. But for some reason with the Tacomas
it seems the story with Toyota, their distributors, and their dealers is completely different.

A Toyota case manager called me this week and could care less if my Toyota was even running. No joke. Wasted 10 minutes on the phone with me to end in saying and I quote "take us to arbitration".

Toyota could give a rats a$$ if every member here took them to arbitration.

Of every product I have ever purchased, and every company I have ever done business with Toyota at every level is the worst.

To all current and potential customers BE CAREFUL and do diligence.

I work in the industrial side of Toyota and this is not the case at any level. Sorry if this is what happened. This gives Toyota a bad name but it sounds like they are earning it. Good luck in the furure.

Appreciate your reply Tacomadog. Many companies have a rotten apple somewhere. Hopefully some day this bad apple at Toyota will will be exposed, only until then will Toyota truly learn how to personally address situations and reach amicable resolutions with customers willing to give them a second chance. I was one and so was Ricerun.

I would have signed a non disclosure with Toyota, moved forward with another identical Tacoma that did not exhibit these problems Toyota refers to as normal and been a happy customer.

Now. Forget it, the war is on. Local news station is hot on this. I'm having giant lemon stickers made for the truck and a dedicated website hopefully launched by mid July.

Sorry it has come to this but Toyota, Southeast Toyota Distributors, and Scott Clark Toyota in Charlotte NC could have handled this much better.

Say hello to Case Manager Brenda in Torrance CA for me.

Guys and Gals, I hate to even ask this question, but I noticed something driving home tonight. Should the climate control knobs, gear selector and windows/locks switches be illuminated? Driving home it was humid tonight so I reached down to turn the A/C and could not see the switch since it was dark out. I also noticed this is a parking lot, I had to turn the dome light on to see if I was in Drive. I turned the dimmer roll-dial and nothing changed, not even the dash lights. Is that another "inconsistancy"?

Do these get added to the list too?

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
everything in mine that u spoke of is illuminated. i see it all every night when i drive home from work at midnight. a/c, shifter, foglight controls, etc. sounds like another issue bro...i'd check the fuses first and see if maybe they shorted something in screwing up your truck and go from there

First off, Where is this person located? Has he or she spoken with the military about this matter. Sometimes they can get involved in such matters being that he or she is Goverment property? If they have what was the response?Record everything the dealer and or corporation say to him or her. In their words is very good documentation. I live in southern California. My wife is a nice Asian girl. she went and bought me a 07 tocoma and the finance person took advantage of her less than perfect english. I threatened to go to the local Asian community and ask if anyone locally has checkout their contracts and or had problems with such dealership. they in turn redid my contract and remove a substancual amount of the over all price of the truck. I am not saying that this is the answer but?
