I attempted to do some doughnuts in the snow last night, I press and held the traction button but it still kicked in after i picked up speed, I also turned off the side stability thing and no difference(2013 Taco sport)

    It's a secret
If you have an auto-transmission, try setting your gear selector on D-1 along with disabling the traction-control.

Someone needs to make a TC delete button for our trucks. Even when you hold the button it still moderates your gas and braking. As soon as I let off the gas when kicking sideways it will apply brakes and straighten out.

Did you disengage it all the way?

In mine I have to come to a complete stop be out of gear (manual) push in the clutch and the brake and hold down the trac button after a few seconds the track light will come on with the LSD light then keep holding a few more seconds the LSD light goes out and then I can be stupid without nannies to get everything to actually turn off for real.

I don't know what guy is talking about the transfer case coming in automatically.

It's a part time 4x4 there is no center diff the truck is not capable of AWD automatic transfer case coming in shenanigans, if you don't turn the dial the transfercase (electric shifted manual shift case) won't change from 2WD high position, if it tried you would have metal particulate all down the road behind you.

You can shift into 4WD under a certain speed but it's recommended you be going slow and straight.

At a complete stop and either in park or N, hold down the TC button for about 5 secs.

It's almost like we need a sticky thread explaining how to turn off traction control. Or, maybe Toyota could start providing a book of some sort explaining how to operate the vehicle. Like, some sort of manual for owners.

Unless the OP followed the proper procedure and it still kicked back in on it's own? :notsure:

@saweetlou did you come to a complete stop and then hold down the trac-off button?
