The spring that comes with the Fox 2.5 extended tvl coilover for a Tacoma is actually 13”. If that spring is 16”, then You need to contact them and get the 13” spring.

    Cool, problem solved.
I have the same coilovers. They are fantastic. I have them setup for about a 2.5” lift. I have just a hair over 2” of threads showing on the drivers side and a hair under 2” showing on the passenger side. I have them set all the way to the lowest setting on high and low speed dials. Mine were custom tuned by AccuTune Offroad (which is a free service they do), so yours might ride different or need to be adjusted differently

I just bought Eibach Coilovers for 700 pounds. I did this because I noticed that my Springs in general are going to be shit because I have about 130-150 in the front. That’s without a winch so I’m just going to plan ahead for when I do within the next 3 months

I hope that you are able to fix your problem :)

It may not be the exact same situation, but I had a 2.5 reservoir installed front / 2.0 back in October of 2019 by ORW. After install, I feel my "quality of ride" did not improve over stock. Even though I was told my set up (similar to yours, Dirt King UCA's to boot) my ride is fucking stiff when it comes to bumps.

    IMG_E2202.jpg

I don't feel like im being bucked out of my seat like you, but man I feel disappointed or I would have spent less money to achieve at least lift/look. I may take it to a Fox Service center near me in the future and have them inspect it and let me know if I am just bitching.

Did you guys have your shocks custom tuned for your truck? That should help a lot.

I can't speak for OP, but I assume not. I was only offered what size lift I wanted to achieve and I was hoping for very minor 1.5-2.0 inches in lift, but I am very green to this all it is my first lift :)

I think the OPs problem was they installed the wrong spring. He had a 16” spring when he should have had a 13” spring. 13” is what comes with the Fox 2.5 ext tvl coilover for the Tacoma, 0”-3” lift. I think the same size spring should also be on your coilovers.
Check your overall shock height. It should not be more than 21” measures from bottom eye bolt to the top of the top hat. This is measured with the full weight on the coilovers

very common problem, but most won’t admit it. you’ve set your preload against a desired inch lift value, that’s not what preload is for. (Unless you are after looks). Preload is to set static ride height, the more preload you add to the spring passed “desirable”, the shittier the ride but the more lift you’ll get. Take 0.5~1” out of those preload adjuster then see what you think the ride, then dial in more/less from that point as you feel necessary for your driving.
