I just got it back from the alignment and it rides even more stiff. But I’m still going to cross my fingers on break in time and the bumper coming in from c4

There are so many variables, It would really depend on the problem your trying to fix. Too stiff on the correctly valved / sized / working shock, would probably be spring too long or to high load rating.

What’s a break in time for a coil? Cause my ride seems a bit stiff and bouncy but I’m praying for break in period and when my bumper finally gets here

There isn’t really one, spring will sag / settle within a very short period of time then should become stable until the point it’s about to fail. But I thought your problem was incorrect spring?

Fox coilovers don’t really sag or break in. At least not enough for you to notice

So you already have the aftermarket bumper on?
What is your total shock height? Measured from bottom eye bolt to the top of the top hat. This shouldn’t exceed 21” for riding comfort reasons.
The longer spring isn’t going to help with lift or added weight. A heavier spring will help with weight. The base spring for that coilover is 13” and 600lb. If you add more weight to the front then you might need to go up to a 650lb or 700lb spring.
Maybe Eibach doesn’t make a 13” spring above 600lb and that’s why they sent you a 14” spring?

They sent me that at a 650lb rate spring. And no I don’t have the bumper yet. But it is in the making and I just wanted to compensate for it so I went with a little taller and heavier spring. Well that is what was recommended by fox

Hopefully the weight of the bumper will smooth out the ride.

I ended up going with 700 springs because at the moment I got about 120 in the front but within the next couple months I am putting a winch setup so it’ll be around 170-200

And I also have my stocks on so I’m not sure if that makes the ride a bit more bouncy

You change spring rate for front end weight, not the height or length of the spring.

To add to this, there is a max preload you should never exceed. Exceeding the max allowable preload will result on reaching the spring's "block height" when the coilover compresses. That can damage the coilover or the coil buckets, and will definitely result in a very shitty ride. Also, a 14" spring is common for most of the major coilover brands for 2.5 coilovers for the Tacoma.

Yeah, it's fine. You just need to make sure you don't over-preload the coilovers just to lift the ride height more than normal.

Yeah the preload conversation is a little worrying to me. Just my opinion. Preload does nothing more than take the spring to it's designed load. Then what? You hit a bump, and the spring is already compressed because of "preload" and you have no spring left. I also disagree with the rates. Why? I have no idea..lol. All I can tell you is a 600lb spring will compress 1" with ah....wait for it...600lbs. I have no idea how much weight my truck is on the front. If you were jumping this bitch 45' into the air and landing like Evil Kenievel, or a Baja truck.....just thinking outloud..

If you are satisfied with the Ball Joint angle, and the outer tie rod angle, your mint. That ball joint is bent like a dog's hind leg. Just sayin. (if it's sitting on the ground).
