    That looks like
Quite a bit or preload for a 14” spring.
Again, measure your total shock height. Make sure it’s not more than 21”. Measured from bottom eye bolt to top of top hat.
If you exceed that, you will have a uncomfortable ride

Yeah I was worried about that angle anything to correct that? Without lowering the truck. Aiming like a drop diff?

That's a lot of threads showing on that coil over. Instead of going longer you may need to have gone stiffer to the 700lb spring.
Fixing that ubj angle will require lowering it and a better alalignment, I think.
    What are your alignment numbers?
How lift do you have at it's current stance.
The bumper will probably only lower it about 1/2 inch and will make it a little more spongy of a ride.

OP, I suggest you read both of these both of these articles:

    https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/coilover-spring-rates-for-toyota-tacoma-4runner/

    https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/tacoma-4runner-coilover-preload-faq/

Additionally, if you received shocks with Tundra springs are you sure you didn't get Tundra shocks? The valving for a Tundra vs a Tacoma is extremely different. Not to mention there is likely a difference in compressed and extended lengths. What part number did you order? What part number did you receive?

The box said tacoma umm I’ll go try and find that part number orrrr they could have totally put tundra shocks in the box and label tacoma. No but that can be because even the shop that I went to said that was crazy on how tight it was to come off and they held it up to a tundra shock and mine that I have was smaller

I wish I could help you. I'd talk to the folks that designed or sold the combo. Here's the deal. In a normal auto or truck the lower control arm are almost level, the axle is level, the steering geometry is level. Now we introduce the desire to climb rocks, forge streams and jump dunes at 130mph...lol. This creates a problem with a truck designed to pick up milk and bread, and a 4x8 sheet of plywood for Harry the Home Owner....lmao. Make a phone call. You might find out some good info but just don't talk to "Jake". He's probably got no clothes on...

So do you know the part number on the box? Or better yet the one on the shock itself? (It can be tricky to find). You are dealing with so many variables here you need to establish some facts.

I wanted to follow up on this. Sometimes I get a little too "cute" in responding. I caught this in a video and wanted you to see almost perfect geometry at speed. Even at rest, this is close to perfect. Notice how the upper, lower, axle, tie rod are all on the same plane. Speed is probably 50mph and has just come down from extension. The ball joint is almost 90' to the spindle. Mint. This is how it should look.

    And the point is?
That's a long travel suspension and the shocks are more than likely custom tuned, not the OEM replacement coil overs the OP is using. apples and oranges but thanks for the pic.
OP, get this figured out? Have you measured the coil over with the weight of the vehicle as suggested?

so just measured it and from the middle of the lower eye to the top eye I’ve the shock is 21. To the top hat is 22 and quarter inch.

So about an inch and a quarter over 21.

I don't do points. I do geometry. If your ball joint at rest is at 45' like the OP's, you've got a phucking problem. I'm out.

have not read through all of the responses to see if you have already figured it out but this is 100% without a doubt because the shocks have 16inch coils on them. 39-39-600 is the part number for 16inch coils. That’s why your truck rides like a lumber wagon. fox has been putting the wrong coils on there shocks sometimes recently. If you dig enough this is not the first I’ve seen this happen. I would call who you purchased them from and get it taken care of. Best of luck.

Edit: with those coils on those shocks the only suspension you are going to have in the front is the sidewalls of your tires

You have WAY too much preload. That’s your issue. Lower it down to 21” and see if that still gives you enough lift. Too much preload could also damage the coilover if it’s overflexed.

yeah these should come with 13 or 14 in coils on them. I don’t know what a 16 inch coil would translate to in poundage but it’s probably trying to tear the shock apart and that’s why you can barely turn the preload ring. No bumper or skids is going to soften it up. I would want a entire new set of shocks if it was me. Glad you got it figured out

Okay and the damage could have bin caused by the 16in tundra spring that was on their in the first place.

Yeah I’m hoping a bumper and some more beefy tires will make the ride perfect
