One thing I did do is measure the distance between the top of the tire and the wheel arch. I’m at 5” on the passenger side and 4.5” on the driver side…. Thoughts?

    Front or rear?
Measurements should come from hub center to wheel well bottom. My rear 3" lift 2nd gen Access Cab has 25" from hub center to wheel well bottom. Taco lean is what you have with .5 difference in measurements.

Stock measurements no lift is what you have there. My opinion you need to lift a little up front with coil springs maybe 2"-3" all this money your throwing at your issue and it's not solving anything.
If you're running hard on washboard and rubbing coil springs probably worn out.
Fix that and you should be fine, but while you're in there you need to do the ECGS bushing too.
I spent something like 3k for my complete Dobinsons suspension and ECGS bushing installed. Which gave me 3" all the way around and absolutely no rubbing.
    Good luck.

Is the 265/70/17 size for the 3rd gen sport?? Diameter 31.6

I have a 2nd gen Sport and they are 265/65/17 Diameter 30.5 and never a hint of rubbing but they are 1 inch smaller in diameter..

I don't see how shocks or springs could be blamed for the rubbing because it's the job of the bump stop to limit up travel. Springs and shocks might reduce the chance of a bottom out, but they are not the ultimate limiter.

I have 33's and have not noticed any rubbing even when flexing out the truck off-road, but I think it's possible that high speed driving over rough terrain could result in additional up-travel.

I went to the garage and took these measurements on the front driver side:

top of tire to the top of the wheel well: 7.25"
LCA to bump stop seat: 3.875"
And, just for reference, center of hub to edge of fender flare: 22.5" (~2" lift)

The IFS motion ratio is about 2-1, thus the wheel will travel up 3.875" * 2 = 7.75" when the rubber bump stop is completely flattened. This leads me to believe that rubbing will occur at the ultimate limit of up-travel (7.25" < 7.75").

Stock tires have a radius of about 1.25" smaller, so my top of tire to the top of the wheel well would be about 8.5" and thus not rub (8.5" > 7.75").

The OP's tires have a radius of about 0.75" smaller, so on my truck would have top of tire to the top of the wheel well distance of about 8" and so shouldn't rub either, but it's pretty damn close and there is error in all of these measurements.

After watching the above video again, I noticed he gives a more accurate motion ratio of 1.85 - 1. This makes a significant difference in my calculations.

    Max wheel up-travel: 3.875 * 1.85 = 7.17"

    33.1: 7.25 > 7.17 so no rub
    31.6: 8 > 7.17 so no rub
    30.6: 8.5 > 7.17 so no rub

And for added kicks and giggles:

    35: 6.3 < 7.17 so yes rub

    Approximate diameters are for 255/85r16, 265/75r16, 265/70r16, 35x12.5 respectively.

This agrees with my assumptions to date. Until you get to 35” you don’t need to worry about bump stop spacers, upper wheel well tubbing, or body lifts.

OP, something fishy is going on. Have you measured the diameter of your tires? Have you checked to see if your LCAs, bump stops, etc. are bent, cracked, or otherwise damaged?

This all assumes that the IFS and frame do not bend when bottoming out, which we know is not true but don't have any easy way of measuring or estimating. We just have to assume Toyota designed the truck in a way to make it a non-factor except in the very extreme cases.
