I finally weighed my truck today at the dump, but I wasn't in the cab. Full tank of gas, empty cab and empty bed. 3,950 pounds. The GVWR sticker on my door says 5,250 pounds
That gives me 1,300 payload correct? Me ,wife and little dog weigh 400 pounds,600-650 hitch weight with loaded trailer that's 1,050 pounds. That leaves me a 250 pound cushion for payload. Looks like i'm gonna be good even with full tank of gas...What do you guys think? Am I adding this all up the rite way? thanks

You can always get a set of Firestone Ride Rite air bags and that will fix any sagging what so ever!!!!

I was looking at them...But I think Im gonna go with the fastway e2 WD/sway hitch from the dealer for now with my tsb leaf springs. Their charging me $400 installed and I priced the hitch online at $300 so I feel Im getting a good deal with labor. I guess if need be I can get airbags down the road if needed and use with the wd/sway hitch?

With a properly setup WDH and not exceeding your gross axle weight rating you should have almost zero sag and not need airbags.

Here she is empty with the fastway e2 WD hitch...She looks pretty level, I gotta measure looks to be about 4.5-5" from bump stops hitting. She towed really nice with no sway problems around 55 mph in 4th gear. The guy that set it up said camper is 1" inch higher in front then the back.

If I were to get airbags,I would most likely have to go with the 8" drop reciever as the camper would sit higher in the front

I have a similar trailer - the KZ sportsmen 16RBT. We tow with our taco (in fourth gear- no overdrive), and we use a WD hitch setup with 600lb spring bars. It tows great when all set up - much better with the WDH and anti sway bar than without though.

If you put the bike in trailer ensure it is balanced as much as possible.

If it is up front all the way. (Closest to your truck bed). That will put more weight on your ball.

If you load the bike to the far rear of trailer. It could lift the trailer off the ball, per say.

A balanced load can be determined if the truck and trailer are even.(as much as possible) to maximize efficiency. GVW should not be exceeded.

You forgot to add your passenger and cab weight.
