hey guys.. i am probably finally going to buy a 2013 Regular cab this week, finally.. and i was curious what kind of expected price (obviously without tax, as that differs) i can expect to pay out the door.. I will be paying cash for the truck, so i am hoping to get the bottom line out of them.

I was just hoping to know where that bottom line lies.. lol

i just want a bottom of the barrel regular cab, 4x4, auto, cd player, rear sliding window.. thats really it

any advice, purchase stories, links or info would be helpful, as i have a few places to call today

    thanks TW!

And also, I believe the rear sliding window is part of the SR5 package, unless the RC is different than the double cab so I don't think you can get "bottom of the barrel" and still get that. Other than Entune/JBL there's really no super expensive options on a Tacoma anyway. They don't offer any other fancy creature comforts like leather, keyless starting or anything like that.

I wonder how much more the autos are going for than the 5speeds. Hmm

I believe the auto trans adds about $800.00 to the price. I recently purchased a 2013 access cab. The sticker price was $27,009.00 and I paid $25,315.00. Had one dealer that refused to budge from his price of $25,864.00 for a Tacoma with the exact same features as the one I bought. This should give you a % of what they will come down. Plus we are at the end of the model year. One would think they would be willing to deal on any 2013's. If not just tell them you will wait for a 2014.

Best idea is to use edmunds or some other free online pricing service to figure out the invoice price including all options (in this case, automatic transmission and sliding rear window), add 500 to that, and there you are. 500 over invoice is a fair price to pay. You're not getting gouged, and you're keeping the dealer in business.

Then, don't just show up at the dealer. Use the online site of all your local dealers to start getting quotes on the truck you want. You may need to back-and-forth a few times to get down to 500 over invoice. Or, if it's a high volume dealer, they may just open with that - in which case take it, go down there and sign papers.

Just don't overpay in the finance office for turbo-paint-undercoating-polish-warranty-covers.

I had several dealers claim that the invoice price that Edmunds states is not correct. That was their story anyway.

Specifics required. The option packages can get complicated, and I'm sure some customers have calculated incorrectly.

If they're playing straight with you and you're an informed consumer, they'll usually be willing to show the actual invoice cost.

But if they just glance at it with a dismissive "that's way off!" It doesn't pass the sniff test.

CarsDirect says msrp = $22,680, invoice = $21,904, target price = $21,404 for RC 5 spd with rear sliding window($125) and front skid plate($145) in Kansas region. Your region may vary somewhat, so go to CarsDirect.com and use your zip code.

Sounds like you got a good deal. As long as some guy with little boy titties for an avatar doesn't respond, I think everything will work out.

You sure it has a bedliner? The 2nd gen tacomas have a composite bed that looks like it has a bedliner in it when it's actually what the bed is made out of.

It had better have it. Lol. I paid for it. They had a silver one outside and i was telling the salesman that it NEEDS a bedliner and he wrote it down.

Btw, i have not taken procurement of the vehicle yet. Has to be delivered. But i did manage to purchase a set of tacoma Sport wheels already. Gotta order some BFG'a
