1st vid is just in park.
2nd is shifting with the higher idle being park & neutral

    Other possible symptoms/clues/random stuff
    - Engine must be warmed up & it is more pronounced after at least one under longer higher load (20mins, highway) trip. Then if smaller trips are done, it continues.
    - Sometimes noise is more pronounced than others. Can’t really figure out under what circumstances.
    - Faint hum in background
    - Seemingly random blowing of more exhaust smoke than usual. Other times, even with noise, no excessive smoke.
    Smog check is all clear….
    - Rough idle
    - Timing advance at idle anywhere from 5-16-ish. Timing is set at 5.
    - Pulled the #1 plug. Looks ok. I think. Will post pic.
    - Idle can be rather high after driving - 950. Other times more like 780.
    Idle in drive, 550-600
    - I did the timing belt/water pump/pulleys about 2 months ago
    - Oh, & something that I don’t think I’ve heard before is a dripping or popping noise from inside the oil pan. Maybe this is normal & I’ve just never noticed it? I did install an oil pressure gauge. Seems ok, although I haven’t fully educated myself on it yet. After warm up it’s at about 12.
    - Engine vacuum test via the brake booster connection holds steady at 24.
    - I think I hear a very faint rattle at times on acceleration, right side.
-& I do hear the noise in the vids from under the hood, left side, just too much background noise to make a good vid….

Do you mean you couldn’t hear the knock? I know it was more faint in the 2nd vid & different in that it came & went, however to me, it’s continuous & pronounced in the 1st one.
    & no cel….

I couldn't hear the knock either. I had my sound turned up all the way on my macbook.

You can hear it in the first video, first impressions are that it sounds more like an exhaust leak, but I'm no expert.

Flex plate has been suggested. I took the cover plate off & couldn’t see anything. I’m going to go back in with a borescope….
